Bloomington Living Hope Lutheran Church Weekend of May 19-21, 2018 Welcome! It is a joy to have you with us today and it is our prayer that you are strengthened and uplifted through our worship and fellowship. We especially welcome those visiting. Please pick up information about our church at the kiosk located in the entry. Also, please take time after the service to introduce yourself to our pastor. We would like to get to know you better. A Prayer in Preparation for Worship Beloved Father in heaven, as we enter your presence, we ask that you direct our worship so that we approach you with humble and penitent hearts. Grant your grace and truth to abide with us, and as we leave refreshed by your Word, we return home and tell how much God has done for us. Amen. Message for the Weekend Circles are Better than Rows When we think of how we sit for presentations, or in a lecture hall, or even for church services, we sit in rows, correct? Sure, learning definitely happens during that time. But what happens when you gather for dinner with your family or close friends, or outside by the campfire? You sit in circles, right? That's where growth, acceptance, and accountability happens. In this sermon theme we will see how shortly after the first Pentecost happened the early Christian church gathered in smaller "circles" and the benefits of being in those "circles." In His Service, Rachel Zahn Church Music Director When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. Acts 2:1-4
