We may groan a bit as we anticipate this time of prayer and self-denial, but we should look at it as an opportunity for growth. Cardinal Dolan of New York compares Lent to "Spring Training" - just as baseball players train to get ready for the regular season, so we Christians get ready in Lent to grow closer to the Lord and celebrate Holy Week and Easter. Please see the schedule of Masses for Ash Wednesday and other activities for the Season of Lent. Let's pray for each other, that we will trust the Lord and live in joy and hope of His many promises. May the traditional Lenten practices of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving open our hearts and minds to Jesus our Savior.
