Summer Fun Camps Join the Journey is a program that seeks to help guests and new members find their connection points at First Lewisville. Many people visit churches and even join them only to go years without finding a place, other than worship, to connect with others and the mission of the church. While worship is integral to our faith, it is not the only point of connection. Join the Journey is designed to help you not only be a member of this church, but also to help you move forward as a disciple of Jesus Christ. While we hope you will stay for the 6-week duration of the course, we realize that schedules change and things happen. So, we have designed each class to stand alone so you have the flexibility to miss a week and pick it up another time. Registration available online at: http://firstlewisville.org/#/ccdc-preschool/summer-camps Nature Art: June 13 6 (M, T, W, Th) 18 months school age Independence Day: June 27 30 (M, T, W, Th) 18 months school age Sizzlin Science: July 11 14 (M, T, W, Th) 18 months school age CCDC Fall Registration Christian Child Development Center (CCDC) is now enrolling for the 2016-2017 school year! Mosaic s Clarksville Mission Trip We are heading back to Clarksville for a one-day trip on June 10! Our focus this trip will be on their town community center, The Hub, and will include both working on a mural and teaching a computer class. Contact Eric Page for more information! A note from the Evangelism Committee: So, if we are going to become persons who share our faith with those outside the church we first have to become persons who regularly share our faith with persons inside the church. Take a few moments this week and think of how you might start to encourage people in our church to share their experience of God with others. There are many Christians who, down deep inside, want to share their faith but they honestly don t know what to say. Let s figure out a way to help them. Faith sharing in worship service is a practice that is rooted in the Wesleyan experience. Do you have a faith story that you can share with the congregation? In my study today I came across this saying that seems to summarize evangelism for me, Make a friend; be a friend; introduce your friend to Christ. I think this is a good motto for us to use. -Don Hamilton My Brother s Keeper My Brother s Keeper will have their monthly Men s Breakfast Saturday June 11 and Saturday July 9 at 7am in the Family Life Center. June Communion Offering The June Communion Rail Offering will go to help Vacation Bible School. Vacation Bible School is the single biggest outreach event we host each year. For an entire week each summer, instead of reaching the 75 children we have in weekly attendance, we have the opportunity to teach almost 300 kids about God s amazing love and grace. With the support of this church we are able to offer VBS to so many children, including Basswood and New Hope, that would not get the option to experience this wonderfully powerful week. This year we hope to mail a postcard to houses surrounding the church; our hope is to reach new families including single parent families we are on mission to serve. July Communion Offering The July Communion Rail Offering will go towards Camino de Vida. Camino de Vida is our Spanish language worshiping community. This community is an important outreach to our Lewisville community. Rev. Jonathan Perry s Last Sunday June 12 - Rev. Jonathan Perry s last Sunday.
