This building project has been a real blessing. Through the process, God has sent special people that we have come to call friends. They are people who have no obligation to Southside other than they wish to see the Kingdom and the church grow. They teach us the value of giving to other for Christ s Sake. God has been faithful to send all the workers that we have needed at the right time. But he has also sent encouragers. Many of our own congregation have come by the project to encourage the workers. If you haven t had a chance to come by, please come by and get a tour! I believe you will be pleasantly surprised. Not only have we made new friends locally but also from around the world. The people pictured below are Bryon and Mia from China; they are students at Mizzou. They were so overwhelmed with the project and volunteers. They wanted to do some work themselves. So we set them up to do some painting in the stairwell of the sound booth. Thank God for friends and new friends. Of course our greatest friend is Jesus, for He is the friend that sticketh closer than a brother. God Bless, Brother Guy. I hope everyone is doing well! I know I have said this many times, but I feel so very blessed to be a part of this church family! It is hard to believe that January is already over! We are back into the main flow of our Wednesday nights and all has been going well! Our Children s Ministry is growing and I remain thankful to the teachers and helpers who make it all possible, both on Wednesdays and on Sunday mornings! As it goes, however; with growth there comes growing pains! I know you all hear this from me all the time, but it is always worth saying again; we can always use more help! These kids are ready to hear the gospel, they are ready to learn, and that is a huge opportunity for our church! We want to do our best to provide the teaching and guidance that they need to hear! As we look ahead to the new building, things will be even more different and we will need all the help we can get to make that transition as smooth as possible. So, if you are interested in coming on board to help us, please come Children s Church 3yrs old to Kindergarten talk to me! I bragged on the youth group this past Sunday, and I want to take a minute to do that again! Youth Group has been going great! On Saturday, January 28 th we took a trip to the Scottrade Center in St. Louis! We took around 20 students to Winter Jam. The night was a blast. There were 10 different bands as well as some different speakers who came and preached the gospel! To some, bringing a large group to stand in line for hours with thousands of other people might sound terrible.. Well, let s face it, that sounds bad to most! But it was an awesome time and everyone did great. I feel so blessed to be able to have the opportunity to do these things with such a great group of teens! I want to thank all the chaperones who came with us and made the day possible! We re truly blessed! Group Shot Heading to Winter Jam! Waiting to get into the Concert!
