The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world. JUST A LITTLE TALK W ITH JESUS I once was lost in sin but Jesus took me in, And then a little light from heaven filled my soul; It bathed my heart in love and wrote my name above, And just a little talk with Jesus made me whole. Chorus Now let us Have a little talk with Jesus Let us tell Him all about our troubles, He will Hear our faintest cry, And He will answer by and by; Now when you Feel a little pray r wheel turning, And you know a little fire is burning, You will Find a little talk with Jesus makes it right. Sometimes my path seems drear, without a ray of cheer, And then a cloud of doubt may hide the light of day; The mists of sin may rise and hide the starry skies, But just a little talk with Jesus clears the way. I may have doubts and fears, my eyes be filled with tears, But Jesus is a friend who watches day and night; I go to Him in pray r, He knows my every care, And just a little talk with Jesus makes it right. 7

SHARING YOUR FAITH Part 6 Sealing the Deal: Inviting the Person to Respond to the Gospel Sharing your faith involves more than sharing your personal testimony and explaining the gospel. To be complete, an invitation to respond must be extended. If the person understands the gospel, one of the best ways to invite them to respond positively is to simply ask whether they have ever received Christ as their Lord and Savior. If they have not, you should ask whether they would like to do so. If a person is ready to make the commitment, ask them to pray this prayer, or something similar, with you: Heavenly Father, I come to you in prayer asking you to forgive my sins. I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is your perfect Son and that he died on the Cross that I might be forgiven and have eternal life. I believe that Jesus is Lord and that He rose from the dead on the third day. I ask you to come into my life and be my personal Lord and Savior. I turn from my sin and place my trust in You alone. Thank You for loving me and dying for me. And thank You for giving me new life. In Jesus Name. Amen. Once the person has prayed that prayer, congratulate them, let them know that today is their spiritual birthday and that they should celebrate it just as they celebrate their birth date, and encourage them to do the following in order to grow as a follower of Jesus: Share their good news of salvation with someone who would be happy to hear of their commitment. Follow Jesus in believer s baptism. Become active in a Bible believing church. Pray daily. Read the Bible. If the person is not ready to receive Christ, be sure to leave the door open to follow up. Often a person simply wants time to think about it and could be open to discussing the matter later. 10
