RESCUE-PURSUED Rescued Colossians 1:21-23 (on pages 1183 in the Bible located in the seat back pocket) Message Notes New Covenant Community Church March 8, 2015 1

Next Steps This week, be aware of your inclination to buy into the lie that you don t need God and that He might be holding out on you. Actually, God is pursuing you and offering to rescue you from yourself. He is aware of what you are facing and wants to be invited into your daily life. Read Matthew 14:15-22 When the disciples brought five loaves and two fish to Jesus, it was never going to be enough to feed the multitudes. But instead of complaining about how little food there was, Jesus blessed the little. He did this because the miracle was never about the loaves and fish; it was about what the boy s offering had the potential to become in the hands of a miracle-working God. Once Jesus blessed what was never going to be enough, He then broke it... and that is where the miracle of multiplication began. The blessing is in the breaking; it is those very things that we thought would take us out because they broke us that become the things we feed to others. If we will put our broken lives, relationships, bodies, finances, emotions, dreams and hopes into the hands of our gracious and redeeming God, He will use them to feed the multitudes. Our brokenness does not disqualify us from being used by God; it is the very thing that qualifies us. Christine Caine This week, read and muse on the following passages looking for how God is pursuing and desiring to rescue us for bigger purposes. Where do you need rescuing? Are there areas in your life that need rescuing but you are stubborn and refusing to allow God to come alongside? Psalm 46; Colossians 1; 1 Peter 1 @timsjohnsonkbj @newcovlincoln 2 New Covenant Community Church March 8, 2015
