During this springtime month of the year we traditionally honor Our Blessed Mother by special devotions: - Say the rosary, often - How to leaflets are at the entrances to the Church - Come for morning Mass with group rosary said twenty minutes before each Mass - We have a pilgrim virgin visitation to our parish homes whereby a blessed statue of Mary is brought to your home for your family and friends to honor her. This is a wonderful way to enrich your family prayer life by gathering around her each day to say the rosary. She travels from home to home through the work of the Legion of Mary and can be brought to your home by just putting your name in the home visitation book on the podium at the main church entrance or leaving your request at the parish office. - Have enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in your home by leaving your request at the parish office. This is also very much recommended to follow the pilgrim virgin visit because Mary s work is to bring her Son to us and us to Him. The first Emmaus Retreat was held in the Archdiocese of Miami at the Dominican Retreat House in 1978. It was developed and conducted by a team of laywomen from St. Louis Church in Kendall and since has spread to parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Miami, other cities, states and even internationally. The retreat is based on the scripture passage found in Luke 24:13-35, where Jesus appears to two disciples who are on the road to Emmaus, after Jesus' resurrection. The retreat offers a unique opportunity for personal, spiritual growth simply by discovering a new relationship with God and others. It allows time for you to reflect and affords you the opportunity to meet Jesus on your personal journey; to get away and look at yourself as a Christian / Catholic. It helps you to focus your life in a more positive and meaningful way. The retreat guides you through a series of reflections given by laypersons on all aspects of life - spiritual, emotional, physical and relational. You will come away with a renewed sense of priorities. The retreat begins on Friday evening when we meet at St Rose Church and concludes Sunday afternoon after our Family & Friends Celebration (also at St Rose). It is coordinated by the men of St. Rose of Lima. General Information Start - We will meet on Friday, June 2nd at 5:00 p.m. at St. Rose of Lima Church, 415 NE 105th St. Miami, FL 33138 Retreat Location The retreat itself will be held at CHALI HOUSE, 3225 NW 8TH Ave, Miami, Florida 33127. End The retreat will conclude with a Mass and a Family & Friends Celebration immediately following the Mass at St. Rose s Church starting at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 4th. What you need to bring to the retreat - Towel, deodorant, soap, shaver, toothpaste, toothbrush, cologne, ear plugs, pillows, blankets and a twin-size sheet set. Bring comfortable and casual clothing: (jeans, shorts, t-shirts, polo shirts, sweaters/jackets). Also bring a pair of black dress pants for Mass.
