FOOTHILLS SCHOOL is losing their office manager of many years. The school is now looking for another manager who is a dedicated worker and commited to Christian education. Please see the details on the bulletin board in the Narthex or call the school office at 963-3546. RE-CYCLE AND SPREAD THE WORD! Please bring to the Church Office all your used and unwanted quarterlies for adults and children, and weekly lesson papers from the children s departments. Loralyn Horning is collecting these things plus books by E.G. White, Bibles, and other literature. She will be sending them to Lightbearers Ministries, a nonprofit organization. Division Leaders, you could also help contribute to this project! This is a good opportunity to re-cycle while spreading the word about Jesus! RELIGIOUS LIBERTY: The Angwin Village Church will be having a Religious Liberty booth at the Calistoga fair July 3 to 6. If you would like to man the booth, greet people, answer questions, and hand out literature, call Dan Tompkins at 965-2803. He is scheduling 4-hour time slots from noon to 10 p.m. RELIGIOUS LIBERTY: Assembly Bill 17 will require every business, social service provider, religious college, hospital or child care center to provide medical benefits to domestic partners as a condition of doing business with the State of California. AB 17 is headed for a final vote in the California Senate and your voice must be heard! Now is the time to act. AB 17 violates the First Amendment rights of religious individuals and institutions to the free exercise of religion by coercing the violation of sincerely held religious beliefs. It may deprive thousands, perhaps millions, of Californians access to services, which will inevitably result if this bill is passed, since many state contractors will refuse to compromise their religious scruples, and so be compelled to stop providing those services. The bill discriminates against not only private contractors, but religious institutions such as colleges and hospitals, by providing exemptions for essential industries and services, but refusing to exempt those with religious objections to providing domestic partner benefits.
