ABOVE ALL Above all powers, above all kings, above all nature and all created things; Above all wisdom and all the ways of man, You were here before the world began. Above all kingdoms, above all thrones, above all wonders the world has ever known; Above all wealth and treasures of the earth, there s no way to measure what you re worth. {Refrain} Crucified, laid behind the stone; You lived to die, rejected and alone; Like a rose trampled on the ground, You took the fall and thought of me above all. {Refrain} Like a rose trampled on the ground, You took the fall and thought of me above all. (repeat all) LORD, I LIFT YOUR NAME ON HIGH FWS 2088 (refrain) You came from heaven to earth to show the way, From the earth to the cross my debt to pay; From the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky; Lord, I lift Your name on high. Yours is the kingdom, Yours is the glory Yours is the Name above all names. What a powerful Name it is, what a powerful Name it is The Name of Jesus Christ my King What a powerful Name it is, nothing can stand against What a powerful Name it is, the Name of Jesus. What a powerful Name it is, the Name of Jesus. What a powerful Name it is, the Name of Jesus. IN CHRIST ALONE In Christ alone my hope is found. He is my light, my strength, my song. This Cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease My Comforter, my All in All. Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone, who took on flesh. Fullness of God in helpless babe. This gift of love and righteousness scorned by the ones He came to save Till on that cross as Jesus died the wrath of God was satisfied. For every sin on Him was laid here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious Day up from the grave He rose again. And as He stands in victory sin s curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine bought with the precious blood of Christ. i BECAUSE HE LIVES, AMEN I believe in the Son, I believe in the Risen One. I believe I overcome by the power of His blood. Amen! Amen! I m alive, I m alive because He lives. Amen! Amen! Let my song join the one that never ends, because He lives. I was dead in the grave, I was covered in sin and shame. I heard mercy call my name. He rolled the stone away. {Refrain} (Because He lives) I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, ev ry fear is gone. I know He holds my life, my future in His hands. {Refrain} TAG: Because He lives. ii

Invocation Good News God, Rev. Vicky Starnes
your angels appeared to the faithful women of Jesus company, bringing them news more wonderful and awe-inspiring than they could imagine Christ is Risen! Surely your angels can interrupt our lives, too, breaking into our losses and sorrows and offering a message of tremendous joy to change our lives! Come this Easter morning, we pray, and fill us with the joy of the women disciples, the first witnesses to your resurrection, that our lives may also be renewed in hope and glory. Let us roll back the stone of the grave and pick up the stones of Alleluia once again! In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen. Call to Reconciliation It was early in the morning, when God created all the good and beauty in the universe. It was early in the morning that a baby cried in a manger. It was early in the morning on that first day, when a voice told us that death has been defeated and Jesus is alive in our midst. Let us confess the fear, and the great joy, we bring with us, early in the mornings. Prayer of Confession This morning, Wonderful God, in the company of your church saints and sinners we gather to celebrate your life, your ministry, your death and resurrection, your great love for us. Yet, we know we often leave the celebration here in the sanctuary, as we go back to our homes, our jobs, our fears, our doubts, our lives. Bring us new life, God of the living, where we are tired and stressed; transform our hardened hearts into fountains of love; forgive us the hurts and harms we have caused; fill us with this joy of your Holy Spirit in the hollows of our souls. Assurance of Pardon Leader: Just as Christ did not come to condemn but to liberate, so too is Christ raised from death not to judge but to celebrate. Cast off the yoke of sorrow and instead raise up the scepter of joy Christ lives! We live! All is made new on this Resurrection morning! People: Alleluia and amen! *Gospel Lesson Mark 16:1-8 When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they might go and anoint him. And very early on the first day of the week, when the sun had risen, they went to the tomb. They had been saying to one another, Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb? When they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had already been rolled back. As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man, dressed in a white robe, sitting on the right side; and they were alarmed. But he said to them, Do not be alarmed; you are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not here.
Look, there is the place they laid him. But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him, just as he told you. So they went out and fled from the tomb, for terror and amazement had seized them; and they said nothing to anyone, for they were afraid. This is the Word of God for the People of God. CROWN HIM WITH MANY CROWNS Crown Him with many crowns the Lamb upon His throne Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own Awake my soul and sing of Him who died for thee And hail Him as thy matchless King through all eternity Crown Him the Lord of life, who triumphed o'er the grave And rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save His glories now we sing, who died and rose on high Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side Rich wounds yet visible above in beauty glorified No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight But downward bends each burning eye at mysteries so bright.
