Processional Hymn Ancient & Modern 678 In Christ alone my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song; this cornerstone, this solid ground, firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! My Comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone! - who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe. This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones he came to save: til on that cross as Jesus died, the king of love now glorfied for every sin on him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground his body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain: then bursting forth in glorious day up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory sin's curse has lost its grip on me, for I am his and he is mine bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the power of Christ in me; from life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from His hand: til he returns or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I'll stand. Words and Music: Stuart Townend (b. 1963) and Keith Getty (b. 1974) Collect Almighty Father, whose will is to restore all things in your beloved Son, the King of all: govern the hearts and minds of those in authority, and bring the families of the nations, divided and torn apart by the ravages of sin, to be subject to his just and gentle rule; who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. The First Reading A reading from book of Hebrews Christ did not enter a sanctuary made by human hands, a mere copy of the true one, but he entered into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself again and again, as the high priest enters the Holy Place year after year with blood that is not his own; for then he would have had to suffer again and again since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the age to remove sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for mortals to die once, and after that the judgement, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him. [9. 24-end] All This is the word of the Lord Thanks be to God

Gospel Reading All Hear the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ according to Mark Glory to you, O Lord After John was arrested, Jesus came to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God has come near; repent, and believe in the good news. As Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, Follow me and I will make you fish for people. And immediately they left their nets and followed him. As he went a little farther, he saw James son of Zebedee and his brother John, who were in their boat mending the nets. Immediately he called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired men, and followed him. [1. 14-20] This is the Gospel of the Lord All Praise to you O Christ Motet Pie Jesu Domine, dona eis requiem. Pie Jesu Domine, dona eis requiem sempiternam. O kind Jesus, grant them rest. O kind Jesus, grant them eternal rest. Prayer after Communion God of peace, whose Son Jesus Christ proclaimed the kingdom and restored the broken to wholeness of life: look with compassion on the anguish of the world, and by your healing power make whole both people and nations; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Final Hymn Ancient & Modern 510 Will you come and follow me if I but call your name? Will you go where you don t know and never be the same? Will you let my love be shown, will you let my name be known, will you let my life be grown in you, and you in me? Will you leave yourself behind if I but call your name? Will you care for cruel and kind, and never be the same? Will you risk the hostile stare should your life attract or scare? Will you let me answer prayer in you, and you in me?

Will you let the blinded see if I but call your name? Will you set the pris ners free, and never be the same? Will you kiss the leper clean and do such as this unseen, and admit to what I mean in you, and you in me? Will you love the you you hide if I but call your name? Will you quell the fear inside, and never be the same? Will you use the faith you ve found to reshape the world around through my sight and touch and sound in you, and you in me? Lord, your summons echoes true when you but call my name. Let me turn and follow you, and never be the same. In your company I ll go where your love and footsteps show. Thus I ll move and live and grow in you and you in me. Words: John L. Bell (b. 1949) and Graham Maule (b. 1958) Music: KELVINGROVE 11.40 am Service of Remembrance and Commitment 12.30 pm Holy Eucharist (1662 Book of Common Prayer) President: Reverend Canon John Colston 3.30 pm Evensong for Peace Responses Byrd Hymns: 493, 245 Setting Stanford in C Psalm: 46 Anthem O give thanks unto the Lord S. S. Wesley Preacher The Dean Voluntary Fantasia & Fugue in G Parry Anthem O give thanks unto the Lord, for He is gracious: and His mercy endureth for ever. Who can express the noble acts of the Lord, or shew forth all his praise? For thou, O Lord, art good and gracious unto all them that call on Thee, of great mercy unto all

them that call upon thee. All nations whom Thou hast made shall come and worship Thee, O Lord, and shall glorify Thy name. For Thou art good and doest wondrous things: for only Thou art holy, Thou only art the Lord. For Thou art great and doest wondrous things. Who can express the noble acts of the Lord, or shew forth all his praise? Blessed are they that always keep judgement, and do righteousness: they are blessed.
