Please park only in clearly marked parking spaces and leave the fire lanes open. At St. Mary s please keep the garage space and the driveway space by the rectory clear in case one of the priests needs to respond to an emergency. CHRISTMAS FLOWERS Every year we do our best to make our church as festive as possible at St. Mary s. The joy of Christmas is expressed in music and flowers. The atmosphere in the Church is so vital to our celebrations. If you would like to contribute a suggested $25 donation toward the Christmas flowers and plants in memory of a deceased loved one there are Christmas Envelopes at the entrances of the Church or fill out the form below and mail it or bring it to the Parish Center, 22 Seton Way, Randolph, MA 02368 ******************************************* IN MEMORY OF: DONOR: TELE. Third Sunday of Advent December 16, 2018 Fr. Phil Third Sunday of Advent Today the priest has the option the wear rose colored vestments as a sign of joy that the coming of the Christ child at Christmas is so near. The journey through Advent is rapidly moving toward Christmas. Today is a good time to ask ourselves, what do we truly care about in life? How do we find joy in the Lord? How has this Advent made a difference in our lives? The readings today are inviting us to realize that how we relate to others is a reflection of how we relate to Jesus. How important to us is spending time with Jesus each day? By virtue of our Baptisms our lives like John the Baptist are about others. Community is an essential element of joy. By being with others we actively exceed ourselves and point people to the presence of God. If there is one person or group of people we would like to help, what is stopping us from helping them? John the Baptist puts responsibility in our hands. We are called to be the presence of God for each other. Through acts of kindnesses in word and deed and thanksgiving we express that God is near. Extra Confessions: Tuesday, 12/18/18 Penance Service (Vietnamese) at St. Bernadette Church from 7-8:30pm and Wednesday, 12/19/18 Penance Service at St. Mary Church from 7-8:30pm. Christmas Mass Schedule: 12/24/18 4pm St. Mary & St. Bernadette 12/24/18 6pm Family Mass St. Mary 12/24/18 7:30pm-Vietnamese St. Bernadette 12/24/18 Midnight Mass at St. Mary 12/25-18 9am(Vietnamese) - St. Bernadette 12/25/18 11am (English) - St. Bernadette 12/25/18 10am St. Mary Christmas Collection: Please remember all the monies collected in the Christmas collection goes to the needs of the sick and retired priests of the Archdiocese of Boston. Please take this opportunity to say thank you to all the priests, including our senior priests, who have devoted their lives to our Church...and to all of us. Please be generous if your means allow. 4 DISCIPLES IN MISSION The Disciples in Mission plan that we have entered into as a collaborative with St. Bernadette s is all about the new evangelization and becoming intentional disciples. Three workshops are being offered for all those interested and especially for those on staff and for those in ministry in both parishes. Just a few weeks ago, Fr. Phil, & Deacon Jonathan, many staff members and some of our volunteers in ministry attended the first workshop. Wow! We strongly encourage attendance at these workshops offered as formation. It is recommended to attend them in the order listed below. FORMING DISCPLES IN MISSION - is an all-day (or two evening) session to help develop a common language and skill set for the New Evangelization. Participants learn how to share personal testimony, strategies to help form disciples, and develop an understanding of what makes evangelizing parishes. Please choose one of the following: January 26, 2019 at Sacred Hearts Parish in Bradford, February 9, 2019 at St. Joseph in Kingston, February 23, 2019 at St. Raphael in West Medford or March 16, 2019 at the Pastoral Center in Braintree. FORMING LEADERS - is an all-day (or two evening) session to help all discern and develop their own particular calls to lead within their personal, family, community, parish and collaborative lives. Please choose of the following: January 12, 2019 at the Pastoral Center in Braintree, February 2, 2019 at St. Raphael in Medford, February 26 & 27, 2019 (two evenings) at Sacred Hearts in Bradford, March 11 & 12 (two evenings) at St. Anne-St. Catherine Collaborative (hosted at St. Anne in Littleton, or March 18 & 19, 2019 (two evenings) at St. Peter in Plymouth. FORMING COLLABORATIVES FOR MISSION is an evening session for pastoral teams/parish staffs, finance and pastoral councils, school boards and plan writing teams. The focus is on the importance of these roles, relationships and strong communication. Please choose one of the following: January 16, 2019 at Sacred Heart in Bradford, January 30, 2019 at St. Joseph in Kingston or February 13, 2019 at St. Charles in Woburn. All three workshops are open to the public. They are free to participants from within the Archdiocese of Boston! To see the schedule for each workshop and to register please go to: www.disciplesinmission.com.
