What comes to your mind when you hear the term Lord? - If someone were to look at your day-to-day life would they say that Jesus is definitely the Lord of your life? - What distractions do you need to do away with or what changes do you need to make so that your life proclaims Jesus is Lord!? Going Deeper: The Old and New Testaments are filled with the word Lord which also implies Ruler. Glen shared some this morning but look for more of them as you read your Bible. Outreach Our Relationships with the World MCC & Food Resource Bank Sunday, June 4th Tuesday Arthur Home Services AMC Leads June 4th Eric Mattson with the Food Resource Bank will be at AMC on Sunday, June 4th to share about FRB and it s connection with Mennonite Central Committee. This will be during a combined Christian Ed. time in the fellowship hall at 9:30 a.m. Eric will be sharing how land owners, farmers, and others can help to fight hunger in this world. Hopefully AMC farmers and others can be here to hear what Eric has to share. Four or five times a year AMC plans and leads the Tuesday evening worship service at the Arthur Home. The Ministry Team takes turns planning this service. The MT recently decided to involve fellowship groups in this ministry to include more AMC people. Every so often one of the MT members may be calling on some of your fellowship group to help with this. The residents at the home really enjoy seeing people from the church. Sunday, June 4th will be Holy Hands Children s Sunday at AMC and we Puppet Ministry will welcome Holy Hands Puppet Ministry from Charleston during our worship celebration. Children are encouraged to invite their friends. Families with children should plan on sitting in the front of the sanctuary that day so that kids will get a great seat for the puppet ministry! Keeping Up with AMC Several people are graduating this weekend. Ryan Miller from SIU with a Bachelors degree in Science. Adriene Lane from ISU with a Bachelors in Organizational and Leadership Communications. Maria Yoder from U of M STL with a degree in Nursing. You can register your children at arthurvbs.org. VBS is open to children ages 4-Jr. High. This year s theme is Hero Central so kids should grab their capes and get ready to learn that God s heroes have heart, courage, wisdom, hope and power! Thrift Shop Hiring Assistant Manager The Arthur MCC Thrift Shop is looking to hire a part-time Assistant Manger for approx. 19-22 hours a week, which would be 3 days a week including most Saturdays. Discipling Growing in our Relationship with Jesus Worship in the Park June 11th On Sunday, June 11th we will have Worship in the Park at Brad-o-clen. Worship will start at 10 a.m. and we will have a carry-in fellowship meal after. Bring a lawn chair and a dish to share! Bible Study For Young Women A new Bible study is starting for women in their 20 s. Ashley Litwiller will be leading All Things New by Kelly Minter, which starts on Sunday, May 21st at 6 p.m. at Ashley s house. Bring a Friend! Wo r s h i p Our Relationship with Jesus May 21st Concert at AMC This Wednesday Next Sunday May 21st we will have Graduation Sunday here at AMC, recognizing our graduates during the worship celebration. At 5 p.m. that day a Baccalaureate service will be held at ALAH High School s East gym. This Wednesday, May 17th at 7 p.m. The Klassens will be sharing a concert at AMC including Paraguayan harp and keyboard. Eduard and Christine have been sharing in Mennonite churches for some time now. Come and hear them! Prayers for our Church & Community Addison Yoder - Had adenoids removed this week.
