There's a lot of adds on it. Is it legal to use a dead persons name in this way I wonder or am I over reacting? It's also kinda spooky to see Dusty's age as 69 as if she is still alive! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm? fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=115002241 1704 Posts Humboldt allherfaces Administrator Posted - 30/09/2008 : 18:51:16 Not to worry. I think this is the page created by Clare and/or Mads, our two Aussie Sheilas here on LTD. There's just profiles for Dusty right now but I was thinking we should start a Group page on myspace...it would be awesome! 2678 Posts I made a group page a while back but haven't added or done anything to it yet. JOSH There is a garden Something like the shadow of a butterfly And lies beyond the gates of dark and light And darling, it belongs to me Posted - 01/10/2008 : 11:47:56 Yeah basically me and mads created it. But as you can see when you view the profile, we havent logged in since June 1st. And there's only 2 ads by the way, which we never put up on there. They have been left there as comments but i'll delete them. dustyspringfield.info/ /topic.asp?ar 1/7

You don't have to like it Humboldt, but we're just trying to create something a little different for Dusty. Thanks for your comments Josh and Nancy, its nice to know that people out there like it. It took forever to create! Edited by - on 01/10/2008 11:48:23 Mads Posted - 01/10/2008 : 15:32:19 Yeah we just thought it would be good to get out there and show the younger generations that its not just people who got to see Dusty live that love her, we do too. LOVE MADS. 3323 Posts daydreamer Moderator Posted - 01/10/2008 : 18:04:20 It's a good site girls and I've looked at it more than once. Fans consider themselves friends - its nothing strange. Try searching myspace for Janis Joplin or Jimi Hendrix profiles :P Michael --- Let's pretend we're cats instead of people and go roll around and scratch an old latch hook rug together. Humboldt 1704 Posts insomniacafe Posted - 04/10/2008 : 23:45:37 Fair enough, though I must admit I'm curious what you find objectionable about a free-access Dusty fan page full of nothing but otherwise freely-available content - for instance, YouTube videos, photos and quotes. In other words, a lot of the same content that's on this very site. Michael dustyspringfield.info/ /topic.asp?ar 2/7

Netherlands 1509 Posts --- Let's pretend we're cats instead of people and go roll around and scratch an old latch hook rug together. richardrockstar I start counting 8 Posts Posted - 10/10/2008 : 05:27:37 I already have a group on MySpace that I created a few years ago. I believe many of you are members. P.S. I think your profile is very reverent and I see NO ads on it. Just people leaving comments. richardrockstar I start counting Posted - 10/10/2008 : 05:29:51 Here is the group address by the way. 8 Posts http://groups.myspace.com/dustyspringfield The very first group for her, I might add. :) I am also the originator of the Dusty Day New York that ran for 3 years. Cheers, Ric hard Tim Posted - 10/10/2008 : 11:34:36 I will have a look Richard - I've been meaning to for ages. I do agree with Humbolt's point here. The MySpace sitebuilder encourages the fantasy that someone who has passed away is still living and also publishes personal information on them that may be seen as disrespectful, and incorrect. Nothing is regulated other than by our own judgement. 3422 Posts Looking again at the profile. I am absolutely certain that Dusty would NOT want her sexuality defined as lesbian - whatever her private preferences might have been - and that is one part I think should definitely be changed. She fought all her life against being labelled and defined by her sexuality - as indeed many people do. Maybe you have to have been there to know what that feels like. I certainly do! Regarding her age being stated as 69 - if you didn't know much about Dusty, you would think she was still with us - in body as well as spirit. To celebrate someone who passed away before our lifetime - like Oscar Wilde being 112 or whatever is amusing - but Dusty being projected as in her late 60s does feel a lot closer to home. In a way this is good as it keeps her current, but if you are a contemporary of Dusty -it may not be comfortable reading to read something pretending she is still alive. It would be a jolt for instance to someone like Pat Rhodes to read this part of the site. (I guess you could argue that she is unlikely to find it but you know what I mean I think). It's a question of sensitivity to the memory of Dusty and to her friends and fans. Personally I don't think Dusty herself would mind the age part of it as she'd see the funny side of it, but she would be furious at her sexuality being defined for all to see - and we know her thoughts on this from her own words. I think perhaps that aspect should be removed to be honest - then the focus will be on the rest of the site which looks and reads very well. You're doing a good job promoting her Mads & Clare - please note that we do appreciate your work, it's just the MySpace structure that's undermining your efforts. Tim :-) dustyspringfield.info/ /topic.asp?ar 3/7

new site http://www.timlloydsmith.com Edited by - Tim on 10/10/2008 12:12:52 Posted - 10/10/2008 : 15:31:40 Uh ok basically no one has to like it, we just thought it would be nice to set up a myspace account for her. The age thing was just because we had to put something in there and i have no idea whats going on with the sexuality thing but whatever it wasn't meant to offend anyone. Me and Mads don't really have time to look after it anyway so maybe we'll just have to re think if we're gonna keep it. I had no idea it would cause such a fuss, the page has been around for ages anyway. Each to their own though, like i said, we didnt make it for every single person to admire. I respect where you're all coming from but i think it's gone a bit too far and if this is gonna carry on then we'll have to get rid of it. Posted - 10/10/2008 : 15:48:00 Alright so i've done my best to delete all the ads and i've got rid of the sexuality bit. I can't seem to get rid of the age, you have to put in a birth date so im sorry but unless you know a way to get rid of it, then its gonna have to stay there. Sorry if this has caused any trouble, it wasn't meant to. Dusty means to world to me and Mads and we'd never to anything to intentionally be disrespectful or anything. Give us a break, we've never been in that situation you've been in and we're just a couple of young kids trying to reach out to our generation and tell them how awesome Dusty is. Tim Posted - 10/10/2008 : 16:22:31 I know Clare - and you have both done a great job with it - I do think Dusty would be very pleased with you spreading the word - so please don't feel unappreciated when you ARE - and you should keep the site up IMO. 3422 Posts Things have a habit of looking more dramatic when posted than they are - it's no big deal - I was just making observations about Dusty's probable wishes - and wanting as many people to appreciate your site as possible. You know - it's likely that a lot of people on here don't agree with me - so I expect I'm in for some stick later...lol xx new site http://www.timlloydsmith.com allherfaces Administrator Posted - 10/10/2008 : 23:10:49 Ah let's all take a deep breath. Hopefully the changes Clare has made to the myspace will accomodate those who had issues with them. As dustyspringfield.info/ /topic.asp?ar 4/7

14235 Posts for the sexuality that was identified, if anyone is unhappy with that, please talk to me. I don't remember much, but I do think that Clare and Mads showed me the myspace when it was created and I said change bisexual to lesbian. (Bisexual is a label too.) I understand Tim's issues with being labeled; maybe I have issues with some things not being named or being misnamed. But it's irrelevant to debate now that it has been changed. As Humboldt said, we'll have to agree to disagree. I think the important point is that we all honor and respect Dusty, and love her too, and those facts manifest different ways with different people. Now hoof hugs everyone, and that's an order. xo Bosseh ~You thrill me with a holy kind of bliss....so closer (closer) Mads Posted - 11/10/2008 : 06:41:59 I swear I sleep through all the drama on this site! Cheers for changing the sexuality bit Clare. I was never really sure what to put there, but clearly Dusty was not straight, so whatever you put (either bisexual or lesbian) is not going to agree with some fans. 3323 Posts Whatever! I dont mind. If people dont like the site then Clare and I will be more than happy to take it down but from what I can see its all pretty much sorted LOVE MADS. Tim Posted - 11/10/2008 : 09:33:33 Yes Madsy - all sorted and some useful exposure for your site too. I'd just like to say that it does look fine Clare and Mads, don't take it off. Casxxx 8313 Posts 'Something in your eyes' memphisinlondon Posted - 12/10/2008 : 03:28:50 It's not fair that Mads and Clare have had to change details they felt were OK and accurate to start off with. It's up to them how they present Dusty on their site. Nothing was inaccurate. Dusty owned up to being bi-sexual (not gay/lesbian) several times. It's true she didn't think this was an aspect of her persona that needed to be discussed at any length but she did discuss it. 3565 Posts Maybe Clare and Mads could say Dusty was bi-sexual but had her primary relationships with women and said she didn't give a **** except she did because of the prejudiced world she half lived in. But that wouldn't fit. The quotes are good though and there are more to be found. Go, girls! Memphis Ever since we met...
