RECOGNIZING THE DAY OF VISITATION By J.P. Timmons March 1, 2012 2012 CCI Publishing ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Scripture References: Mt. 23:37, 13:30; Lk. 13:34l, John 2:4, 1 Peter 2:12, 2 Peter 3:12; Revelation 14:14-16; Daniel 7:25, 9:25, Psalm 16 One of my biggest disappointments in ministry is seeing people miss their day of visitation the day when Jesus comes to answer their prayers. Over many years of ministry I ve seen countless people miss their Day of Visitation. This normally occurs for two reasons: 1) they don t know God very well and they don t know the Bible, and 2) because they simply do not recognize it, i.e., the visitation of the Lord. In 2005 I ministered a message at a church in Oklahoma titled, Expanding Your Possibilities. It was a message from the Lord and during ministry this night of over 7 hours all the people in that church in wheel chairs walked away.

I would recommend that you listen to this message and send it to all those you know who need a miracle. People need miracles but they don t know how to receive them they limit God by their thinking and by not recognizing their Day of Visitation. A clear example of this is given in the Scriptures from this message; it is found in John 5. The testimony is given of a man an invalid for 38 years who was waiting for healing. He had faith as evidenced by his staying at this pool for many years but he limited God because he was focused on only receiving his healing one way. If you study this chapter and you have the Eye of the Eagle you will recognize that Jesus was only sent from the Father to heal this one man. That should give us pause to think and meditate on what is occurring here. This was Solomon s Porch it was as long as a football field and there were probably thousands of people there who needed healing yet Jesus walked up, healed this one man and walked away He didn t heal anybody else. Why was that? This man had a problem not just a physical problem but a far more deadly disease a spiritual disease he didn t have the Eye of the Eagle and couldn t discern his Day of Visitation. Notice that he didn t respond to Jesus according to what the LORD said. Jesus simply said, Do you want to get well? But the man was so focused on getting his healing one way by being the first into the water after it was troubled by an angel.

You see, all these years he had limited God by his thinking I ve got to get into that water first after the angel comes. But Jesus has many ways to heal us or provide for us. We cannot limit Him by our thinking we must Expand Our Possibilities and be spirit minded. Most of the time I see people miss their Day of Visitation it s because they do not recognize God answering their prayers through the vessel He chooses to use. I ve seen this many times; especially with famous Christian ministers who reject the way God chooses to answer their prayers. Often I ve seen God answer a person s prayers according to their prejudices, e.g., if you don t believe that God uses women in ministry then He will probably choose a woman to deliver your answer to prayer. If you are prejudiced against black people then the Lord may choose to deliver His answer through a person with black skin or vice versa if you are prejudiced against Caucasians. Over 10 years ago I discovered a spiritual principle of God in the Scriptures: God often will send a physical sign that contradicts the true spiritual sign. Which one are you going to believe? That is why it s most imperative that you develop the Eye of the Eagle and can discern spiritual matters. An interesting subject of the New Testament that is germane to this study is the Pharisees and Lawyers. Now in

Jesus time a lawyer was not the same as in our day. Lawyers were experts in the Mosaic Law. The Pharisees, Sadducees and Lawyers should have recognized that Jesus was the Messiah but they did not recognize their Day of Visitation. They knew the Scripture in Isaiah that the Messiah would be born of a virgin; Isaiah prophesied this 800 years before the birth of Jesus. But instead, no, they said that Jesus was a bastard! So they rejected Him. As a result, most of them are in hell now. Yesterday I almost told an educational professional (an oxymoron), Nobody ever innovated by not challenging the status quo. The Pharisees made this mistake in not recognizing that Jesus, the Messiah, did not come to fulfill the status quo! Now frankly, it s incredible when we read about many examples of this in John and the other gospels. Jesus healed, raised the dead and opened the eyes of the blind yet the Pharisees responded: This man is not of God. Why? Because He doesn t keep the Sabbath! The blind man that Jesus healed even said to them: Now that is remarkable! You don t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes (John 9:1-33) Now, let s talk about you because the Lord wants to minister to you through this teaching article. Do you recognize your Day(s) of Visitation? Do you see God actively working to answer your prayers? Many Spirit-filled Christians miss their

Day of Visitation simply because they are not obedient to the Word of the Lord. Now this is important and I want you to meditate on it because it will help you. I m amazed over many years of ministry to give people a pure word of the Lord that they recognize, i.e., they know without a doubt that it s a prophetic word from the Lord and yet they completely ignore it! Now I have to tell you that this is the rule rather than the exception, i.e., most people completely reject the Word of the Lord even though they admit because God always makes it clear that it is from Him that it was from the Lord. The Lord gave me a message a few years ago that I ministered at our church in Montana titled, The Message and the Sign. Often, in fact most of the time, God confirms His message and messenger with a sign. We see this often in the ministry of Jesus. Yet in most cases even though people relish the ministry signs, wonders, and miracles they reject the Word of the Lord given through His prophet. What are you believing God for? What prophetic words do you have that are yet unfulfilled? Develop your spirit so that you have the Eye of the Eagle so that you will recognize your Day of Visitation and receive the best that God has for you. Praise the Lord!
