Lamm Lights God Bless America Christmas is the perfect time to celebrate the love of God and family and to create memories that will last for ever. Jesus is God s perfect indescribable gift. The amazing thing is that not only are we able to receive this gift, but we are able to share it with others on Christmas and every other day of the year. Joel Osteen Merry Christmas from the Executive Board, Enterprise Committee and our Lamm Auxiliary

Lamm Post #622 Website: americanlegionpost622.com CHRISTMAS DECORATING Come join us Wednesday November 29th at 6p.m. at the Post to help decorate the Post for the Christmas Season. Help get into The Christmas spirit with some fellow members and of course free pizza. We are also looking to update some of our decorations, so if you have some gently used or new decorations, bring them that night or drop them off at the Post prior to November29th and we promise to find them a new home Hope to see you there, Santa s Helpers

Lamm Lights page 3 Greetings all, December Message from Acting Commander Wayne P. Sorrentino We had a very nice turnout for Veterans Day at the Post; good food and good friendship on one of our coldest days of the year so far (more cold days to come, I m sure!). I hope all of our veterans were remembered & thanked for your service to our country during a time of great need. Thank you to all who attended our services at the Williamsville Cemetery and at our Post monument, and made those ceremonies and the reception in our Post Lounge so special. Please keep our POWs and MIAs in your daily prayers that they all will return to their families. Thank you to Jack Michels for putting the POW/MIA Table together on the second floor of the Manor as a permanent display. Great Job! Happy Thanksgiving (belated), Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy New Year to each of you and your families as it applies. Please attend our Post Christmas/Holiday Party on Sunday, December 10th, from 1500 to 1900 hours (3 to 7 pm) in the Manor. Cost is only $10 per person, and bring your friends and family for a good time where you ll be with old and new friends. See the flyer posted elsewhere in this newsletter for tickets, menu and other details for this annual Post event. It won t be the same without YOU and your group being there. Commander Ernie Bacon has announced that has stepped down as Post Commander for personal reasons and I have agreed to step up and assume Command of the Post. I ll be sworn in during the Executive Board meeting on December 6th. We ll have another successful year with your help. Thank you for your support of YOUR Post. Stay tuned for info regarding a celebration of our Post s 100th birthday. If you wish to assist on this committee being formed during the Executive Board meeting on December 6th, please let me know or just show up with your ideas and a willing to work spirit at 1900 hours (7 pm) on Wednesday 12-6-17 for the meeting. Thanks in advance. Membership is now at 300 with a target of 408 (73.53%). Our immediate goal is 75% by 12-6-17, so we re almost there. We need at least 6 more renewals or new members during the next 10 days. If your membership card says 2017 I m asking YOU to send in your $45 dues check to the Post TODAY so I can send you your 2018 membership card and turn in your renewal to Department by the deadline (also consider postal delivery delays from here to Department HQ) so we need to be at 306 by 12-6-17. Please help us get to the target goal and beyond. Thank you. We are looking into re-starting our SONS Squadron at Lamm Post. Our Sons were always very supportive of all of our Post activities over the years, and even ran several annual events at the Post. I m being asked by a variety of people to re-start this committee/squadron, having just received another request at Bingo on 11-14-17 and also from a 10-year old on Veterans Day. How can we miss with all of this enthusiasm?? If you have a male family member interested in joining our new squadron to support YOUR Post, please let me know so we can take care of the details and get this one done (re-started)!! Thank you. Bingo will be taking a hiatus for a few weeks over the holiday period. This gives our workers a much needed rest and offers them all time to be with their families over the Christmas/Holiday season. We ll resume Bingo play in January as detailed elsewhere in this newsletter. Thank you for your continued support of Lamm Bingo. This is one of our major fundraisers which keeps our Post thriving & helps pay the bills, so your continued support of this weekly Post event is very important to us. Thank you to our Bingo players and our Bingo workers from the Post and our Auxiliary; very much appreciated. That s all for now from me. Stay tuned for more and let us know what you d like to see at YOUR Post. Lots of other activities can be easily planned & executed if we are assured of your support and assistance. We really enjoy showing off our buildings and what we can offer to you if you need a place to rent for your upcoming event(s). Thank you for your past service to our country and for your continued service to our community.
