We are beginning week 2 in the season of Advent. Advent is a time when we look forward to the coming of our Lord and Savior. The symbolism of the Sunday in week 2 has traditionally been focused on preparation. God was preparing his people for His coming. God was preparing Mary for what was to come, but it is more than that. God is preparing us for what He has planned for us. God has been showing us since the beginning, that He alone is at work, cleansing us, bringing us to Him. And for those who are called sons and daughters of God, He has been preparing us to go out and bring the Good News of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to the lost. The Advent season is a time for us to remember that He alone stepped out of heaven to redeem the lost. It is something we should always be contemplating on, not just during Advent, but always, remember that the Lord of all creation came to earth to make things right, to be the final sacrifice.

THIS Saturday, December 12 th - 6:30 p.m. ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY At the home of Scott & Denise Villers (17880 Owen Road Parkman) We ll enjoy a tasty potluck dinner, share some devotions and Christmas carols, and then move on to our infamous Chinese gift exchange. Please bring a dish to share and each person brings a gift. That gift can be something nice, or fun, or useful, or quirky, or just down-right weird! We take turns selecting a gift from under the tree and then option #1 open the gift option #2 trade it for a gift that has already been opened (which means that you are stealing it from someone). That unopened gift can be traded one more time and then that person has to open it. So you may open up a really nice gift, but it s likely that someone will steal it away! As the saying goes, it ain t over till it s over! There s a sign-up sheet posted at the bulletin board near the secretary s office. We hope that you can join us for this fun night!
