Fr. Larry s Corner of the Bulletin First of all, let me thank all those involved in planning and carrying out the wonderful 35th anniversary celebration last Sunday. It was not only fun, but also an expression of both the heritage and future of our parish. I would like to thank Fr. Steve Dumais and Fr. Joe Vien for traveling in order to be with us. I would also like to thank Jim McKenna and his anniversary committee for all their work in making this a successful celebration. Now we can begin planning for the 50th! If you look in St. Mark s Gospel, right before today s passage, Jesus had warned his apostles for the third time about his suffering, death and resurrection that was soon to take place. Now for the third time we are told by Mark how the apostles hadn t the slightest idea of what he was talking about. The first time Jesus warned them, Peter told Jesus that just couldn t happen they wouldn t allow it to happen. After the second time the apostles were arguing over which of them was the greatest. Now, after Jesus third prediction, James and John, two of Jesus first apostles, began to argue that they should have the most important positions when Jesus comes into his kingdom. While we say to ourselves what idiots when we hear this read, the Collection for October 7, 2018 Collection.. $6598.00 Maintenance.$1959.50 Thanks for supporting your parish! reality is that we are often just as oblivious as they were of what God is doing in our lives. Aren t we a times just as bold as they were, coming to God and telling him we want you to do for us whatever we ask of you. He took this occasion to teach all of them once more a lesson on how to become really great not be being self serving, but by serving others just as Jesus came to do. Jesus gave us the example by washing the feet of his apostles at the Last Supper and then told them I have given you an example to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do. This is a message for us too! God bless!

Basic Rosary Guide 1. At the crucifix, begin with the Sign of the Cross and say the Apostles Creed. 2. On the first large bead say the Our Father prayer 3. Followed by three Hail Mary prayers. It is customary to say "I offer these three Hail Marys for the increase in the virtues of faith, hope and charity." Faith - pray to increase your faith in God Hope - pray for a deeper desire and hope for heaven Charity - pray to have a deeper love for your neighbors for the sake of your love for God 4. Then say one Glory Be prayer. Now you are at the medal that joins the beads. Here announce any prayer intentions you have. Then announce the first Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful or Glorious Mystery depending upon what mysteries you are meditating on this particular day. At this point you may read a meditation or look at a picture of the mystery that will aid in your meditation. 5. Then begin the decade with one Our Father all the while keeping hold of the medal. 6. On the ten small beads that follow pray ten Hail Marys. 7. Followed by one Glory Be Prayer. 8. Then the Fatima Prayer. 9. When you come to the large bead, announce the second respective mystery, look at a meditation aid then pray one Our Father. 10. On the ten small beads pray another set of ten Hail Marys followed by one Glory Be and the Fatima Prayer called a decade, as before. 11. Continue this pattern of announcing the mystery and praying a decade. Do this for the third, fourth and fifth mystery consecutively followed by one Our Father, ten Hail Marys, one Glory Be and the Fatima Prayer. 12. After the fifth and final decade has been prayed, after the Fatima Prayer, pray the Hail Holy Queen prayer. 13. It is customary to finish the Rosary prayers with the "Let us Pray" prayer from the Breviary followed by the Saint Michael Prayer. 14. Now just as you began, end with the Sign of the Cross. Our parish offers many opportunities to participate in the Rosary: V The Rosary Group meets every Thursday at 10AM in Church. V The Rosary is prayed at the immediately following daily AM Masses. St. John Bosco welcomes everyone to attend!
