CHILDREN S MINISTRY NOTE! - We are in need of 3 large boxes, refrigerator size to paint the scenery for the Children s Christmas program. CHILDREN'S MINISTRY TEAM - is proud to announce the annual Children s Dinner Theater on Sunday, December 10 at 2pm in the DPUMC Social Hall. The children will present the play God s Gift to Us. Dinner will include salad, bread sticks, spaghetti with meatballs and cake. Cost is $10.00 per ticket, with children 3 and under free. ALL proceeds go toward the 2018 Vacation Bible School expenses. Tickets will go on sale after the 8:30 and before the 11:00 service starting Sunday, November 5. For questions see Kathie Browning or Nancy Baker. WESTMINSTER COLD WEATHER SHELTER - As winter approaches our church is collecting food items for the Cold Weather Shelter. See flyer with list of needed items in narthex. We re looking for a few items to be donated or borrowed for the day. Donated items can go in the box marked Sisterhood Crop in the narthex. Needed items: Duct Tape, Masking Tape, Power Strips (borrow), Extension Cords (borrow), Raffle Ticket Roll. Please see Skye Bennett with any questions. Thank you for your support! CALL FOR COATS - A collection box is in the narthex thru November 17 for donations of gently used outerwear--coats, jackets, hoodies--for The Shepherd's Staff's annual Call for Coats. They are taken to Admiral Cleaners for free dry-cleaning. Packages of new socks & underwear are also needed. Sponsored by the Seekers' class; questions see Gary Saylor or Gene Myers. NEARLY NEW ROOM It is not too early to do some fall cleaning and put aside household items to donate to the Nearly New Room for the Bazaar. This includes any household items but no clothes or furniture (lamps & pictures are appropriate). All proceeds from this room benefit the church. Starting Monday, October 30, you can drop off items when the church is open, place them in the Sunday school room marked Nearly New Room 2017 Drop Off. WREATHS ACROSS AMERICA - Deer Park Cemetery is part of the Wreaths Across America. There are 140 veterans buried in the cemetery, wreaths cost $15 each. To donate a wreath or to volunteer to help place wreaths - see the website https://wreaths.fastport.com. The date for the laying the wreaths is December 16 at 12 noon. IMAGINE NO MALARIA - A fundraising chart in the narthex is tracking our progress in support of the UM church-wide effort to overcome malaria in Africa. Deer Park Methodist Cemetery (MDDPMC) Remember. Honor. Teach. On 12/16/2017, we will place wreaths on veteran gravestones at Deer Park Methodist Cemetery.
