A word from your Baroness: Wow! It is already June and we are almost ready to start the polling. I hope you all have gotten your account set up. These are exciting times as we are setting the stage for a new way to do baronial pollings! Please be patient as Kingdom works the kinks out and we get this thing to roll. I am going to take a moment to remind everyone that hurricane season is officially upon us. I would ask that you all take a moment to make sure that your storm survival kit is ready. Also, if you need to evacuate, please let us know where you are going or if you need safe shelter. There are many of us that are willing to provide a safe dry place to sit out the storm. Plus, we get worried about everyone until we hear that you are safe. We have a big event coming up in a few months -our baronial birthday! We are expecting a lot of folks so please; let me know what you would like to do to help out. When we host an event, it is a working event for all of us. Even our own birthday. Also, as a reminder, Their Majesties will be here to help invest our new baronage, so this is the time to put in recommendation for kingdom awards. Those folks that you feel need to be recognized will only are recognized if you put in a recommendation! And please, let Baron Torquil or me know if you put in a kingdom recommendation so we can help support it. And, let us know if there is someone you think deserves a baronial award. Now is the time. Again, I want to thank all of you that have attended events and represented the barony. The kingdom knows we are here by your attendance to other areas. That is a good thing! YIS, Katharine Baroness Raven s Cove 5
From the Baron: Greetings unto the Populace, It was great to see everyone from the Cove that made it to Hidden Mountains Baronial Birthday. It was a great time and a great event, and seeing all the youth awarded in court was awesome. We also had a great turnout for Ruby Joust. Congratulations to all of our fighters. You represented the Cove very well. Of course, I m the only one who had to fight a horse. We will call that a draw. Normally, as we pull into the height of summer, events come a little fewer and further between. But this year, we have quite a line up to look at. Blades and Bows is coming soon and Return to Crecy as well. I hope that everyone can make it to some events and have fun this summer. In Service, Torquil MacTaggart, Baron of Raven s Cove From the Seneschal: Greetings! Our polling draws ever nearer, please offer your opinion in the most constructive way possible. Hopefully, we will all soon know who our future leaders are. Best of luck to all the candidates! We have a bid being submitted for Winter University for next February. Keep your fingers crossed, it would be great to bring this event to the Southern Region. Please try and think of ideas for events in the coming year. It would be wonderful for our group to become contenders for the bidding of Kingdom level events. If you have any ideas, please bring them up at our next meeting on the 14th of June. In service, Edan 6
From the Exchequer Greetings to the populace of the Best Little Barony on the Coast, There has not been much going on in my office this month. I sent another check to Kingdom to cover the 1/2 of the site fee they paid for KASF. So that now leaves us with $1159.06 in the coffers. Yeah! If anyone is interested in becoming a deputy for the office of Exchequer please let me know. In Service to the Barony & Kingdom, Lady Nadya Exchequer From the Herald As we approach the summer months, I prepare my last missive as your Herald. My deputy, Lothian ap Lyoness has done such a wonderful job that he is ready to step up and take over. I will be stepping back to the deputy position, but please give Lothian the continued support that I have received we have the same goal of registering the entire populace. Lochlainn 7
From the Chatelaine Greetings to the Populace! Well it has been a crazy busy month that seem to fly by. There is nothing new to report. Some of you may not know, but this will be my last post for the Barony. Our little family received orders a month ago, and are moving on to the next adventure in the next few weeks. It has been an absolute pleasure to be of service and to have such a wonderful family here in the Cove. Be safe and well! In Service, Lady Muirenn From The Chronicler Greetings all! Please remember, if you take pictures at event and would like them to end up in the newsletter to please tag me somewhere in the album in which you upload them. Thank you! YIS, Rhiannon There was no populace meeting for the month of May. The next meeting will be June 14th, after the table/chair class. 8
