Lighthouse Presbyterian Church To grow in Christ, becoming like Him. April 26, 2018 Volume 12, Issue 09 Lighthouse Presbyterian Church PO Box 404 1402 E. 303rd Street Paola, KS 66071 913.294.2400 Worship: Sunday 10:00am Class of 2018 Layne Steven Anderson Son of Mark and Jamie Glenn Layne believes in God because of Sunday School and how God has brought his whole family to church. He loves youth group and learning about God with his friends. Layne enjoys acting and would like to become an actor when he is older. His life verse is 1 John 1:7, But if we are living in the light of God s presence, just as Christ is, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from every sin. Jillian Leann Gayley Daughter of Brian and Sara Gayley Jillian believes in God because her mom and grandma always took her to Sunday School. She also realized that God was with her when her family got in a bad accident during a snowstorm and God protected them all. Jillian really enjoys training her dog in 4-H and would like to graduate from college in the future and support her family. Jillian s life verse is John 3:17, God did not send his Son into the world to condemn it, but to save it. Triston James Katzer Son of Seth and Renee Katzer Triston believes in God because God forgives him of his sins and how that forgiveness helps him get close to God. God also helps Triston do the right thing and know what those right things are. Triston enjoys playing basketball and going to church. His life verse is 2 Timothy 3:16, All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. As you celebrate this milestone in your journey of faith, may the Holy Spirit be with you to renew and strengthen you in your commitment to follow Christ. Know that you have the prayers and support of those who love you. Congratulations on Your Confirmation!

THE LIGHTHOUSE BEACON Page 2 Class of 2018 Jade Abigail Meade Daughter of Justin and Jessica Meade Jade believes in God because her parents took her to Sunday School when she was little, and in fourth grade a lady at VBS challenged her to open her heart to Jesus. Jade enjoys horse riding and wants to become a marine biologist when she gets older. Her life verse is Exodus 15:2, The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. He is my God and I will praise him, my Father s God, and I will praise Him. Tristan Clay Perina Son of Clay and Abbie Perina Tristan believes in Jesus because Jesus has helped him in hard times. Jesus also protects his dad when he is working as a police officer. Tristan loves to play Minecraft and loves going to youth group. Tristan would like to design trains in the future. His life verse is 1 Corinthians 13:8 Love never fails, but prophecy will pass away and special knowledge and speaking in unknown languages will fade. Kristi Louise Reese Daughter of Russell and Cindy Reese Kristi believes in God and Jesus because she can hear and feel Him in her heart. She believes God is always speaking to her and likes hearing from Him. Kristi really enjoys her trampoline and would like to eat a Ghost Pepper in the future. Her life verse is Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus said, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I will be with you always, to the very end of the age. Ashlyn Mae Wade Daughter of Jon and Melissa Wade Ashlyn believes in God because of the tough times she has been through and how God has always been there for her. In third grade she prayed to God when she was bullied and He helped her through that. Ashlyn enjoys helping animals and being around kids and would like to help as many animals as possible in the future. Her life verse is Romans 5:8, God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Ashley Irene Ward Daughter of Adam and Robin Ward Ashley believes in God because her parents always wanted her to learn about who He is and how Jesus died for us on the cross. She also is influenced by her late grandmother who dedicated her last years to serving inmates and teaching them about Jesus and was killed in an automobile accident with her church serving inmates Christmas cookies and presents. Ashley enjoys showing her pig competitively and playing softball. Her life verse is 2 Timothy 1:7, For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline. Taliyah Elizabeth Wolf Daughter of Tom and Shauneen Wolf Taliyah believes in God because her parents brought her to church, and because she started to read her Bible in first grade after she finished her homework. She continues to rely on God and loves going to youth group to learn about Him. Taliyah enjoys dance and tumbling and would like to be a physical therapist when she is older. Her life verse is Proverbs 18:24, there are friends who destroy one another, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.
