A warm and loving welcome to everyone as we gather on this God s holy day to worship Him. A special welcome to our guests and visitors we are glad you have joined us! MORNING WORSHIP 9:30 a.m. Fifth Sunday in Lent PRELUDE WELCOME CALL TO WORSHIP *HYMN: Rejoice, the Lord is King - Psalter Hymnal #408 (all stanzas) *GOD S GREETING *PROFESSING OUR FAITH Belgic Confession, Article 30 PASTOR: We believe that this true church ought to be governed according to the spiritual order that our Lord has taught us in His Word. There should be ministers or pastors to preach the Word of God and administer the sacraments. There should also be elders and deacons, along with the pastors, to make up the council of the church. PEOPLE: BY THIS MEANS TRUE RELIGION IS PRESERVED; TRUE DOCTRINE IS ABLE TO TAKE ITS COURSE; AND EVIL MEN ARE CORRECTED SPIRITUALLY AND HELD IN CHECK, SO THAT ALSO THE POOR AND ALL THE AFFLICTED MAY BE HELPED AND COMFORTED ACCORDING TO THEIR NEED. PASTOR: By this means everything will be done well and in good order in the church, when such persons are elected who are faithful and are chosen according to the rule that Paul gave to Timothy. *HYMN: I Love Your Church, O Lord - Psalter Hymnal #510 (all stanzas) MORNING PRAYER OFFERTORY and OFFERING: General Fund (Our General Fund offerings help to cover the operational expenses of Central Ave CRC. OUR CHURCH FAMILY Please lift up in your prayers those who continue to need an extra measure of God s healing mercies: John Meier, Dave Vannette, Jo Sluiter, Lois Persenaire, Fern Barkema and Shirley Greving. We are grateful to God for the progress they are making and for the healing taking place. Dirk Hollebeek remains hospitalized undergoing several tests and procedures to help with an abscess that is leaking and causing much difficulty for him. The doctors continue to treat as they are able and many tests are being done. Because of the steroids Dirk must be on, healing is always a challenge. Pray for Dirk that God gives patience, encouragement and healing mercies. John Horsting s procedure at Meijer Heart Clinic on Tuesday went well. He was able to return home the same day and is sore and tired but doing fine. Pray that the procedure will prove to be helpful as he heals. Continue to remember Jerry Stryker dealing with his health issues. May God provide each day for his needs and give a sense of His watchful care and love. Remember Libby Ellerbroek that God would continue to strengthen her. Diane De Vries remains hospitalized needing rest and a time of healing so that she is able to eat and digest properly before she can return home again. Pray for Diane as she looks to the Lord for healing. Continue to remember Jett Ellerbroek at Youth Reach Golf Coast. Hugh Slenk should be returning from his service trip with World Renew tomorrow. May God grant safe travels home for Hugh. CHURCH ANNOUNCEMENTS CHILDREN S WORSHIP will not meet today. They will resume next Sunday, April 14, as usual.
