We will miss you and your shoes will be hard to fill. All the wonderful photos published in newsletters and all of the personalized, custom-made cards sent on behalf of RUMC were made by Elaine. She has also worked tirelessly on numerous church committees and events, has been an integral link in the prayer chain and has been a dedicated member of the Chancel Choir and United Methodist Women. Fellowship Hall Guest Speaker: Verna Bowman The next meeting of the United Methodist Women will be at the Mother-Other Dinner on May 20, 2018, at 5:00 P.M. We are excited to have Verna Bowman, a Christian writer and speaker, with us that evening. Please sign up in the Chapel for this event. All women are invited and encouraged to bring loved ones and friends to share in the evening. Looking forward to a future event, on June 11, we ll hold our annual picnic. We are asking everyone to bring with them children s clothing to support Birthright in Pottstown. New and gently used clothing up to 24 months can be donated and also placed in the Chapel where there is a designated box for Birthright. Caroline Elizabeth was born to Amelia and David Blythe, on January 30, 2018. Amelia has been worshiping at RUMC and has requested a transfer of her membership to our church family. Caroline will be baptized during the May 20 worship service. Congratulations! IT'S Another GIRL! Nashmia Grace Khan was born on Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Mia is the daughter of Zimran and Sarah Khan and the granddaughter of Rev. Zabdiel and Doni Khan. Do you have a computer at home you are no longer using? If so, consider donating it to RUMC! It would be used in the Welcome Center to run Power Point presentations of current RUMC events. See Rev. McIntire if you have a second-hand computer or know where we can obtain one. Thank you!
MAY 2018 UNITED METHODIST VANE PAGE 5 It cannot be said enough... our youth group, while small, is mighty, especially when called to do God s work. We are always proud of these young people, in all they accomplish! 30-Hour Famine Results: With our fantastic youth, $1052.80 was raised this year for World Vision. This equals to feeding 26 children for one year! On Sunday, April 8, the youth met at the home of Mrs. Barron for pizza and a movie, The Case for Christ. The movie presented the facts and proof of the crucifixion and resurrection of Christ. It was a great turnout! Hopefully it was an impactful movie, to help further or confirm their faith journey! Graduate Recognition Sunday is June 3, 2018 RUMC will honor high school graduates Nathan Ayres, David Fink, Zach Ritchey and Brigitte Smith; college graduate, Amanda Hartman; and graduate school grad, Rachel Barron.
