YAH! Burgers and pies and this year even potatoes-life is good indeed. On Sunday we talked about growing our personal discipleship by serving people and each other at the Foodstand. We talked about SEE ALL THE PEOPLE. We know that we all should be doing-working the food stand, baking pies, donating supplies. We ought to do those things. But I have asked us to go beyond the oughts and the should and think about the why. But why does our church and the Foodstand exist and why should anyone care? A quote from Wesley- Oh, for a movement of people inwardly renewed and able to see and love all the people! That s our why! As you serve at the Food Stand as a disciple of Christ-see all the people, greet them, talk with them and love them. Now may your pies be tasty and your burgers tender! Peace, Pastor Emily Food Bank Hours: Monday thru Thursday 9:00am to 11:30am Closed Fridays 785-955-0086 Carolyn Rauch, Director Rosemary Burt, Counselor

Prayer List: Ray Vizner, Tammy Fieson, Celine Larson, Margaret Duffey, Carol Nicholson, Gerry Scrivner, Paula Jeardoe Church Chat 9:30am-Country Place Senior Living Thursday, August th Thank you for all the birthday wishes, cards, gifts and yummy things. You are wonderful to me and I so appreciate being remembered. Pastor Emily God empowers us with our time, our talents, our witnesses and our gifts. EMPOWERED is the theme chosen for the stewardship campaign in September. As Christians and as a church, we are EMPOWERED by God in all our endeavors. God empowers us with our time, our talents, our witnesses and our gifts. The URGENT CARE month of June brought the church s finances minimally closer to the 2018 budget, but after six months expenses and offerings, there is still a 40% shortfall. As King David prayed in I Chronicles 29:14...Everything comes from You, and we have given You only what comes from your hand., the stewardship team plans to emphasize how God has EMPOWERED all of us to make commitments of a portion of what He has given us. Commitment Sunday will be September 30. Thank you for allowing the use of your facility June 20th and July 18th for food programming with Belleville Summer Recreation program. We appreciate using the facility.
