Mission Statement: St. Francis of Assisi Parish is a Christ-centered family of believers, celebrating Christ alive in our lives through the inspiration of the Gospel, church teachings and traditions and the Sacraments. We are sensitive to the spiritual and temporal needs of God s people, acknowledging their uniqueness and dignity and are dedicated to reaching out and serving them through prayer, liturgical celebrations and social ministries. Guided by the Holy Spirit and nourished by the Holy Eucharist, we welcome all people with, respect and compassion. We are vigilant in protecting the rights of the most vulnerable. In the tradition of our patron, St. Francis of Assisi, we put the good news of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ into action. Time, Talent & Treasure Fostering Stewardship as a way of life Thanks for Giving First Fruits & Taking a Step!!! (Regular Sunday Offertory) June 24th s weekly offering:$9,185.00 July 1st s weekly offering: TBA Last year s weekly offering: $9,884.50 Bulletin Reflection Today s readings are about being chosen and sent. The prophet Amos was chosen by the Lord and sent to use his talents for the people of God. The Gospel recounts the story of the sending of the 12 disciples. St. Paul reminds us that we too, are chosen. To whom have I been sent? For what have I been chosen? Living Stewardship We are grateful this week for all stewards in our parish who develop their talent to the fullest and serve our community in ministries ranging from computers to religious education, from Outreach to parish choir, from prayer groups to youth groups, etc. July 15-Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time: In the Gospel today we see how Jesus sent his Apostles out two by two. From the beginning of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, members visit in pairs two by two, those who are poor and needy in their homes. It is there, in the family setting, that Vincentians listen, offer humble advice, and render assistance. Have you considered answering the call to help serve the poor by joining the Society of St. Vincent de Paul? SUNDAY READINGS for next week, July 22nd: Jeremiah 23:1 6 Woe to the shepherds who destroy and sca er the flock. Ephesians 2:13 18 For he is our peace, he who made both one. Mark 6:30 34 [Jesus'] heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd. Send us your email if you would like to start receiving Bringing Home the Word, a weekly message based on the Sunday Scripture readings.
