Dear Folks: Peace A number of people have approached me about little talks about our Church, our faith, and our practices. I am willing, I was also inadvertently unfair. I said that if fifteen or more showed an interest I would speak on any subject they choose. However I did not supply a means to get the thing organized. My bad. So I am now proposing a remedy. Anyone desiring more on our faith and Church; sacraments, liturgy, cannon law, history, prayer, saints, grace, God, comparative religion, scripture, tradition, architecture, spirituality, religious orders, hierarchy, etc...and anything else, can submit their requests simply by writing it on a slip of paper and dropping it into the collection basket. When six or more subjects are collected they will be published in the bulletin. Parishioners can then select from that list by voting on a sheet of paper on the tables at the exits to church. Once a topic is selected by simple majority, the date, time and place will be published in the following bulletin. Talks will be planned to last 40-45 minutes with a question and answer to follow for those who wish. Each topic will stand alone (ala carte) so there will be no need for lengthy commitments. Our PSR program provides formal Catholic religious education (Pre K to 8) for children from Holy Trinity, Our Lady of Presentation and All Souls Parishes who attend Public School. PSR Sessions are on Monday evenings September through May - 6:30-8:00pm Our program continues and supplements the religious formation from parents, who are the first teachers of their children in the ways of the faith. We assist families in the areas of knowledge of the faith, beliefs and Christian life skills and religious practices, and strengthening the growing relationship with Jesus and His Church. Sacramental Preparation (First Reconciliation, First Communion [Second Grade] and Confirmation [Eighth Grade]) is a two year program. It is important for parents of students in first grade to begin their preparation this year in order to receive First Communion next year in Second Grade. Confirmation Preparation begins in Seventh Grade with the Sacrament celebrated in Eighth Grade.
