Advent Calendar Paper Chain Advent is a time of waiting and preparation for the celebration of Christ's birth. We hope this fun and easy to use Advent calendar activity will help you and your family talk about and reflect on Jesus role in God s great rescue plan. Each link in the paper chain includes an Advent-themed Bible verse and an image to INSTRuctions Paper chains make for an easy, mess free art project that kids and parents will enjoy. Supplies: An advent calendar paper chain printout, glue/tape/stapler, and scissors. Using a scissors, cut along the solid, white, horizontal lines on the printout to create 27 strips of paper - one for each day of Advent. Paste, tape, or staple the ends of the first day s strip together to form a loop. Place the second day s strip of paper through the first loop. Again, join the ends of the strip together with glue, tape, or staples. Continue until you have connected all 27 strips into a chain. Hang your paper chain on your Christmas tree or from the walls or ceiling. Each day, remove one link in the chain, read the Bible verse together, and cut out the picture on the link. Paste each day s picture on the Christmas countdown page to create a final image.
