Mrs. Bedard's Class November 17 The Ten Commandments One miracle after another did not satisfy the Israelites. God became increasingly frustrated with their complaining and lack of thankfulness. He called Moses up on Mt. Sinai and gave him the Ten Commandments. The Israelites said they would obey them all. Yeah, right. Just like the children of Israel, we know the 10 commandments, and realize that our lives would be so much simpler and happier if we could just keep them. But, like Israel, we disobey again and again. Thank God (literally!) for Jesus, who came to forgive us when we fail to keep the commandments. It is when we know we are forgiven and given a second chance that we try again not out of fear, but gratitude for a loving God. Flannel graph Bible story Learning Activities Thanksgiving We have been working on Thank You God books and drawing things that we are thankful for. Students are so excited to be
sharing their Family Thank You Turkey Feathers and adding them to our homeroom turkey. Birthdays We have been practicing saying our birthday (month and day). Keep practicing. Turkeys We have a friend on our bulletin board Twinkle Toes the Turkey. We talked about how we could paint a turkey and each child gave it a try. I love their paintings and you will too! Math We focused on the numeral 10 for 10 Commandments. We sang a song about it and some students did a paper where they had to write the numeral and draw 10 of something. Community Helpers We talked about some community helpers that help keep everyone safe and worked together to make a community helpers puzzle. American Indian Dramatic Play The pilgrim items moved to Mrs. Streuter's room and we got the tipi. We talked about things that were the same and different between the two set-ups.
