A couple of my brothers took a trip to New York with the grade school their kids attend and walked the city to see some of the sights. The one brother called out to our 5- year-old nephew, Aidan, I love you. No response. He said it louder and again, nothing. On the third attempt, the quickwitted nephew answered in his most matter-of-fact tone, I heard ya! That ended his uncle s teasing in a hurry! I love you. Three little words that many of us rarely say; we just assume that our family and friends know what we think and how we feel about them, so we skip saying it. Yet people often need to hear it, not so much because they don t know, but because they appreciate the thought and the reassurance. It takes no effort on our part, and it offers so much to those we love. The other side effect of not saying I love you is that we stop believing we are loveable, even by God. Assuming something that is never affirmed can lead to doubt, uncertainty and rejection. If we don t hear it, we can wonder if we are making it up, or if we believe something because we want to, not because it s true. So today, right now, let your family know that you love them. Don t show it, say it. Make sure they heard ya! ~James Gaffney, 2010 Karides Lic. to St. George Publishing jim@stgeorgepublishing.com St. Anselm will have a movie night on Friday, May 10th at 7:00pm. We will be showing I Can Only Imagine. This is a wonderful movie for teens and adults. CHURCH LIBRARY IIn the Church next to the upstairs bathroom is our Church library. Many people have donated wonderful books to it. Please feel free to borrow a book to read from our library. The prayer shawl ministry creates and distributes prayer shawls and lap robes to those who are seriously ill and for people who have lost a loved one. Baby blankets are given at the time of the Baptism. Recipients are parishioners, family and friends who are in need of prayer and caring. All are welcome to be a part of this wonderful ministry. No experience needed!!!!! Next meeting is April 13 at 3:30pm. For more information call or text Barbara at 978-697-0747 or bglett@aol.com

THIS WEEK S FEATURED MINISTRY IS THE LITURGY COMMISSION. This group coordinates with our Rector and plans all Liturgical celebrations. Meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm. The ministry encompasses Mass Coordinators, Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Greeters, Music and decorating for Liturgies. We welcome new members, but especially those who feel called to offer service before or during Mass in any of the roles listed above. Training is offered, coordinated with our Sacristan. It is hoped that our efforts bring fulfilment of the mandate to love one another as He loves us and hopefully bring our members to encounter the joy of the risen Christ. If you have a particular interest or talent, we would be thrilled to hear from you! Please call the rectory at 978 443-8981 or speak with any of the folks you see assisting at Mass.
