Introduction To The Challenge Chris Tomlin s Resurrection Power worship song is filled with tremendous depth and truth (as are all of his songs!) With Easter coming up, I couldn t get this song out of my head, and I thought it would be the perfect inspiration for our latest challenge. Every year, Christians around the world collectively remember what happened on a piece of wood nearly 2,000 years ago and celebrate what God did in an empty grave three days later. What occurred at those places literally change the makeup of this world. Through the cross and the empty grave, God made a way for His weary and rebellious children to be rectified back to Him. When the world thought there was no hope left and the Messiah did indeed die God was at work even when no one noticed or even expected it. His power brought Jesus back from the dead, which in turn only weeks later led to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit to all who would believe and follow. Resurrection power is what was seen in the empty tomb that glorious Sunday morning. And resurrection power is also something we can all witness to every single day, because we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us. You see, what Jesus came to accomplish wasn t just to pave us a road to Heaven, but also to bring God to us while we were still in the broken existence. Jesus ministry, life, and sacrifice all point us to God s mighty power, love and grace. And this power, love, and grace is life changing. Every single day we can should be changed by God s power, love, and grace. This is, in fact, Resurrection Power. So, as we prepare for Easter, let us take on some of the mighty Scripture that points us to understanding how the Messiah is our Savior and Redeemer. Jesus is the true agent for healing and for a life filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. This is what God s power can look like in our lives and one way it is fostered is by fixing our eyes and minds on the life and ministry of Christ Jesus. And that s just what this Challenge does! We created this Challenge to point you to the power of the Resurrection and we can NEVER understand enough the magnitude of the Resurrection in our lives and in this world. So join us this month and embrace this unbelievable miracle! Not only did God became Man, but that same Man died for our sins and defeated death all for the sake of our hearts. I don t know about you, but that s pretty astonishing and life-changing, don t you think? In Him - Alexis and Aaron Waid spirituallyhungry.com

Here s What To Expect In The Challenge: Daily Scripture And A Place To Write It Out: In your guidebook, we provide you a piece of Scripture each day. Underneath that is a box for you to write the Scripture for yourself. (If you are not printing the Challenge, then just write it out in your journal or on some paper). A Reflection Question To help you process the Scripture and devotion. Ways To Put Together Your Challenge: Print it out: Three-hole punch all the papers and put in a binder. Cut the Challenge pages in half and use a single ring to combine them (Cardstock would be preferable for this method!) Three-hole punch it and bind it with metal rings, ribbons, or scraps of fabric. You could go to an office supply store or a craft store and look for ways to creatively bind your Challenge. Take it to a print shop (Office Depot, Staples, etc.) and have them print it and spiral bind it. Someone once showed me how they used the blank side of adult coloring sheets to write their Challenge. Neat idea! The possibilities are endless for creatively putting together your Challenge! Keep it on your phone, computer, or tablet: Find a program that will let you interact with the Challenge on a screen. OneNote for Microsoft is one we have heard worked. Anything that can write on a PDF is a possibility. Finally, you can simply keep an accompanying journal or notebook to fill out the questions and write your Scripture out. Ideas For Writing Out The Bible Verses First And Foremost: As you write the Scripture out, we want you to be open to God speaking to you. Try to keep your mind situated around the text as you write. Keep yourself alert to God's presence and what He may be speaking. Various Ideas: You can write out a piece of the passage that speaks the most to you. Use a different translation. Pick one word from the text and make a word-map. Find a font you like and try to write it out with that font. Use crayons, colored pencils, washi tape, stickers, etc. Or you can simply write the passage out as it is, whatever you feel is best suited for you! Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this? But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip.

People of Israel, listen! God publicly endorsed Jesus the Nazarene by doing powerful miracles, wonders, and signs through him, as you well know. and he was shown to be the Son of God when he was raised from the dead by the power of the Holy Spirit. He is Jesus Christ our Lord.

But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. For no one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me, and at the last day I will raise them up

Now God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.

We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin.

And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him. We are sure of this because Christ was raised from the dead, and he will never die again. Death no longer has any power over him.

When he died, he died once to break the power of sin. But now that he lives, he lives for the glory of God. So you also should consider yourselves to be dead to the power of sin and alive to God through Christ Jesus.

That is why, for Christ s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. He restores and revives my life

Not my will but yours be done. I am the true bread that came down from heaven. Anyone who eats this bread will not die as your ancestors did (even though they ate the manna) but will live forever.

When Jesus had tasted it, he said, It is finished! Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit. Jesus said, Father, forgive them, for they don t know what they are doing

He is not here; he has risen! He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

Surely this man was the Son of God! Jesus came and stood among them and said, Peace be with you!

Then Jesus told him, Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed. And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all.

All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life.

For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. It is finished! I am the Alpha and the Omega--the Beginning and the End. To all who are thirsty I will give freely from the springs of the water of life.
