Lynn & Charles Spencer THANK YOU - Thanks to everyone for their prayers, cards & visits during my surgeries and hospitalization. I appreciate the support of my church family. Gene Myers THE VOICES OF LENT During the Sundays of Lent, a Wreath of Thorns is at the front of the sanctuary, with six purple candles and a white Christ candle in the center. Each week there will be a monolog by a different biblical character whose life was changed by meeting Jesus. At the conclusion of the monolog, a candle is snuffed out until all candles are extinguished, save the Christ candle alone, which will be extinguished during the Good Friday service. On Easter Sunday, there will be a short presentation and all candles will be relit in celebration of the Christ Light that will never die. FINAL CALL - FOR CHURCH DIRECTORY PHOTOS! Any family photos not submitted yet, please give to Cindy Saylor no later than March 31. Make-up picture for SPRC from 2018, picture will be taken right after the 10AM worship service on March 31. EASTER BASKETS - Each year The Shepherd s Staff distributes Easter Baskets to celebrate the Easter message for children. Please see the list of suggested items in the narthex. To donate to this project, purchase items of your choice and place them in the Shepherd s Staff Easter Basket box in the narthex. If you choose to assemble your own basket, be sure to mark it with the gender (Boy/Girl) & age (0 13). Baskets will be delivered the week of April 8. SAVE THE DATE - Saturday, May 18 (7AM-2PM) is the 8 th Annual Yard Sale. This huge fundraiser needs lots of helpers. There will be a Pancake Breakfast, Bake Table, Church Yard Sale Table (donations needed) and Lunch. Please contact Bill Aldridge or Cindy Saylor to see how you can help. Thanks.... THIS WEEK CHURCH COUNCIL NO meeting in March. UMW MEETING - Tuesday, March 19, 1PM in the conference room. Please note the date change. All ladies are welcome. Questions, call Janet Wallett 410-861-8516. LENTEN BIBLE STUDY - Tuesday, March 19 @ 7PM or Wednesday, March 20 @ 1PM. The book is "Lent: The Gift of Creation" by Thomas Ehrich. Contact is Pastor John.... NEXT WEEK SAVE THE DATE - The Children s Ministry team is proud to announce The Mad Hatter s Tea on Sunday, April 28 @ 2PM in the church s social hall. Good fun, food, flavored teas, fellowship and fabulous entertainment by Justin and Gina! Tickets go on sale Sunday, March 24 between the services. The cost is $10.00. EVERYONE is welcome. The Sisterhood has volunteered to assist bycollecting items and assembling baskets. The baskets should reflect the Spirituality of Easter and can contain a variation of the following: Christian Coloring Books, Christian Story Books, Small Toys, Games, Bubbles, Play Dough, Craft Kits, Sports Balls, Puzzles, Games, School Supplies, Bookmarks, Crayons, Markers, Stickers, Non-Candy Snacks If you would like to donate to this project, purchase items of your choice and place them in the Shepherd s Staff Easter box located in the narthex.
