Danish Canadian National Museum Society the museum, located in Dickson Alberta, is dedicated to showcasing and telling the story of Danish Heritage in Canada. I am in my 4 th year on the Board of Directors and am on deck to become the president in several months. I still work, but am gradually moving toward semi-retirement I now work 3 days per week on average, which will likely continue for the next 2 3 years. Much of what I can bring to the Synod council table is experience and insights I have gained in 37 years of being part of a larger partnership in building and sustaining a successful consulting practice that now employs 350 people with 8 offices in BC and Alberta. I served as CEO for 13 years from 1992 to 2005, and am now working extensively with my successors, and working with many younger folks in career growth and seasoned veterans in career transitioning. My passion is people, doing whatever I can to support them in becoming the best they can be. A point of pride for me is that Urban Systems consistently is selected as one of the Best Workplaces in Canada, as featured in the Globe and Mail. I am an avid student of leadership and organizational development, particularly making shared leadership work in a non-hierarchical networked organization [as opposed to the more traditional top down hierarchical corporate structure].
