St. Joseph s Hanging of the Greens Please mark your calendar for St. Joseph s annual Hanging of the Greens. This is a wonderful time of fellowship and fun as we prepare the church for the Christmas season. No Experience is necessary. Sunday, November 20, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. (after Mass) An appreciation BBQ luncheon will be served at 11:45 a.m. for all who help. Let us prefer nothing to Christ for He has preferred nothing to us. St. Joseph Church Parking Lot Update - We are nearing completion of the parking lot update. We removed 18,000 square feet of blacktop, leveled the surfaces and poured/finished 272 cubic yards of concrete. We added handicap sidewalk ramps, adding an acorn pole light for the sidewalk/parking lot handicap ramp, stripped parking spaces, and connecting the elevator sump pump to the rectory generator. With the completion of the pole light & sump pump wiring the total cost will be $79,900+. Our contractors & suppliers provided us with $13,500 of discounts. Thanks to these contractors & suppliers for excellent and timely work, along with very generous contributions to this project. Thanks to generous donations by parishioners the past two years our building fund as of Oct. 31, 2016 had $60,000 deposited, which will pay for all but $6,400 of the entire project. If any organizations or parishioners would like to make donations to this project in the month of November, it would save our parish from using any of our $19,800 reserve funds to finish paying the $6,400 and would be greatly appreciated. Welcome! Welcome to St. Luke s newest parishioner: Laura Stangle. Laura and her family live at 106 Scenic Drive, Goodfield, 67142. Phone is 309-840-7671. Thank You Thank you to Patty and Steve Jones for serving at coffee & donuts last Sunday at St. Luke. The signup sheet for helping in the future is on the St. Luke office window. If we do not have volunteers to help, coffee and donuts will have to be cancelled for that month. We lift up all our duly elected leaders and public servants, those who will serve us as president, as legislators and judges, those in the military and law enforcement. Heal us from our differences and unite us, O Lord, with a common purpose, dedication, and commitment to achieve liberty and justice in the years ahead for all people, and especially those who are most vulnerable in our midst.
