"SHROVE TUESDAY" on SUNDAY Join us on Sunday February 11th at 11:30 am & 4:45 pm for our traditional pancake supper! Shrove Tuesday is the day before Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The name Shrove comes from the old middle English word 'Shriven' meaning to go to confession to say sorry for the wrong things you've done. Lent always starts on a Wednesday, so people went to confession the day before. Shrove Tuesday was the last opportunity to use up eggs and fats before embarking on the Lenten fast and pancakes were the perfect way of using up these ingredients. Hosted by the Sunday School Youth and Children Wednesday, February 14th Services: 7:51 a.m. Imposition of Ashes at Locust Valley Train Station 12:00 noon Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes (church) 7:00 p.m. Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes (church) KEEPING A HOLY LENT 2018
