A Series On Developing A Practical And Effective Walk With God At All Times And In All Situations Part 2 SUBJECT TOPICALLY REFERENCED UNDER: Husbands, Wives, Discipleship, Witness, Faithfulness Introduction to the Text; Colossians 1:9-14 Being a Christian While Being a Man what does a Christian man look like? If you ask the world, they will have their answer. in fact every year TIME magazine has their selection of the MAN of YEAR. but how did they get from being a man to being a Christian man? what does a Christian man do that makes him different? what about his personal individuality & Christian conformity? mommy, where do Christian men come from? Colossians 1:9-14 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; :10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; :11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; :12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. :13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, :14 in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins. Far too many people have a view that a Christian Man is some knuckle-dragging, country bumpkin, dope, dressed in black. 1

Joshua 24:14-15 Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! :15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Guys, Being a Christian is Before Anything & Everything. Acts 6:1 Now in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. :2 Then the twelve summoned the multitude of the disciples and said, It is not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. :3 Therefore, brethren, seek out from among you seven men of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business; a man known to others as a man of morals a C h r i s t i a n m a n i s a r e s p e c t e d m a n (( Hiding Behind Your Personality Doesn t Count )) Daniel 6:10-11 Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days. :11 Then these men assembled and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God. 3.) The Christian man Stands In The Christian Man is to Stand In the Christian man is to be The Servant of All Mark 10:44-45 And whoever of you desires to be first shall be slave of all. :45 For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, a doer, a sender, a goer, a whatever you need A Christian Man Will Not Be Seen With His Hands in His Pockets Watching the Woman Carrying the Sand Bags. 3

The Christian man Stands Down The Christian Man is to Stand Down the Christian man is to be a Humble man John 13:12-17 So when He had washed their feet, taken His garments, and sat down again, He said to them, Do you know what I have done to you? :13 You call Me Teacher and Lord, and you say well, for so I am. :14 If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another s feet. :15 For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you. :16 Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. :17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. humble, obedient, submissive, yielding Find Out What a Foot Washing Looks Like to Your Wife, Your Dad, Your Girl Friend or Buddies Be Nice 5.) 1 Samuel 17 For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? :32 Then David said to Saul, Let no man s heart fail because of him; your servant will go and fight with this Philistine. :48 So it was, when the Philistine arose and came and drew near to meet David, that David hurried and ran toward the army the Philistine. 49 Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth. :51 Therefore David ran and stood over the Philistine, took his sword and drew it out of its sheath and killed him, and cut off his head with it. a pillar, a rallying point, a patriot Men -open your eyes to the culture you re living in. Ephesians 6:12-14 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. :13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. :14 Stand therefore play army!!! 8.) Three times I have been aboard a ship wrecked at sea; a [whole] night and a day I have spent [adrift] on the deep; :26 Many times on journeys, [exposed to] perils from rivers, perils from bandits, perils from [my own] nation, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the desert places, perils in the sea, perils from those posing as believers [but destitute of Christian knowledge and piety]; :27 In toil and hardship, watching often [through sleepless nights], in hunger and thirst, frequently driven to fasting by want, in cold and exposure and lack of clothing. :28 And besides those things that are without, there is the daily [inescapable pressure] of my care and anxiety for all the churches! Matthew 24:13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 9.) The Christian man Stands On The Christian Man is to Stand On the Christian man is to be a Man of the Word a listener, a reader, a doer James 1:25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does. 10.) Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. Matthew 7:19-25 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. :20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them. :21 Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. :22 Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? :23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! :24 Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: :25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
