JANUARY 25, 2015 Month of the Holy Name FROM THE PASTOR S DESK Daily Mass is offered at Our Lady of Fatima every day except Tuesdays when we have a communion service. For many years people have found this 30 minute celebration a rejuvenating way to start their day. Having trouble finding time to pray? Come to daily Mass. Have fears or doubts that feel overwhelming? Come to daily Mass. Need some time to center yourself and get back on track? Come to daily Mass. Struggling with your children or your spouse? Come to daily Mass. Perhaps a good New Year s Resolution would be to commit to going to daily Mass once each week this year. Spend some time allowing God s grace to envelop you. Place your cares and concerns in His hands and let Him work them out for you. Jesus tells us to knock and he will answer. We just have to make the first step. We receive grace upon grace when we celebrate Eucharist. Grace gives us the power to trust God more fully and transforms us. It also helps us to avoid negativity and sin. Daily Mass is at 9:00 am. I hope to see you there. Fr. Join us as embark on a 13 week study of Isaiah using the Little Rock Study Guides. PARISH NEWS The Little Rock series is for YOU if you think of yourself as an average person who wants to deepen your knowledge of God through the Bible, but doesn t want to get too academic about it. Typically you will read the assigned Scripture Study and answer the Study Questions. We will meet on a weekly basis to discuss the Lesson and the Study Questions. We will then listen to a brief wrap-up lecture providing additional expert teaching about the Scriptures we just discussed. The Little Rock Scripture study is the most widely used Bible study in the United States today and is a ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Little Rock in Arkansas and Liturgical Press. Go to www.littlerockscripture.org for more information about the Little Rock Scripture Study. The sessions will be in the Parish Center on Tuesday mornings at 10:00am and Thursday evenings at 7:00pm. WINTER SHELTER The shelter is more half way through the season and is thankfully able to provide essential support to our homeless men from St Martin de Porres. Going into the last 2 months of the season we need disposable razors, small deodorants, small hand sanitizers and underwear in large and extra large sizes. Thanks so much to everyone for the continued mission to serve our homeless men who would otherwise be out on the street on Monday and Tuesday nights. During the month of January we will be collecting baby related items such as diapers, clothing, blankets, and formula, anything that could be supportive to parents. The baby crib is set up in the parish center where you may leave your donated items.
