As with many things in life, summer means different things for different folks. Some people love the heat. For some people its about spending as much time outside, either playing and/or relaxing. Maybe it s a time to visit friends and family. Maybe it s a road trip or a staycation. Whatever summer means to you, I want to remind you that Bethlehem is open all summer and the bills still need to be paid. Summer can be a hard time for the church s finances but it doesn t have to be. I encourage you to sign up for electronic giving or even mail in an offering, if you can t make it. During VBS (Vacation Bible School) Pr. Jean will have four, one-hour meetings, at 6:00 pm around the kitchen table. The first session will be an overview of ELCA resources. The second will be conversation about which approach best suits our needs. The third will be discussion of our needs and the fourth brainstorming about how to meet those needs. Don t just come to church...become the church! The church is not a building where we gather. The church is the people who gather in Christ s name. (Author unknown) I also want to remind you that our summer services (Saturday @ 5:30 pm, Sunday @ 8:30 am, & Sunday @ 10:30 am) will be held in the fellowship hall to avoid the heat of the sanctuary. Kind Regards, Newsletter Deadline Please submit your materials for the August newsletter by Sunday, July 15th, to Lynn Bulger. You can leave the materials in her mailbox at church or Call/ Text to the number above. Lynn Bulger Council President
