Origin Smoke. Ephemeral and evocative as happiness, ethereal but intense. A single instant can take an unexpected form in our mind, in our retina. The smoke with its infinite forms, suggest me ethereal figures that fight to be portrayed, creatures like from another world that reflect what our mind interprets. They were only there for a second, a second of inspiration that the lens of my camera could capture. Inspiration in the form of smoke is transformed into strange beings captured just before it fades forever: smokealiens. Each one takes its form in our mind, manifests itself in a unique way. That's why every smokealien is unrepeatable, each person sees what he wants to see in each one of them.
Origen It is a work that arises from my exhaustive experimentation as a photographer who observes and faces in the solitude of the studio with a single element of incense that is consumed and emanates smoke, which must be immortalized to be something else, to represent a state of Courage that arises from the greatest of creative freedoms: not having a concrete goal beyond expressing. Thus, gives way to my imagination and sprout the essences, the characters, their feelings, happiness. They are my proposal to stop in the daily race and observe, enjoy and find different approaches of the same reality, from which arise different characters that reflect different ways of feeling and living.
Author s Notes "An almost empty studio, a black background, some music and only the company of the incense and the camera. A rod is lit, timidly the smoke begins to sprout and with it begins the magic. A thin and shy figure begins to show his first feelings. He balances hesitantly following the path that inevitably leads him to the highest. But you have to shape it, it way hidden secrets to discover. A slight breeze increases his swagger rectifying his route. And there they are, shapes that emerge from nothing and show everything, an eye here and a tooth there, as they come from another dimension begin to reveal themselves. Then begin the first shots that gradually capture the essence of these creatures. From there to the computer, to search among the winding of the forms, to find them, to recompose them and to place everything in its place. A few touches of color suggested by the shapes created and the miracle is completed. A new smokealien has been born. "
Author s Notes "SmokeAliens is born of photographing simple traces of incense smoke that are complicated by mixing them... it brings out feelings and visions that come from the depths of the mind and heart, to bring us a universe of strange, unconscious, fun and risky beings at the same time". Each smokealien has its personality, its vital background, reflects different feelings, hidden desires and secrets that are revealed in the mind of the spectator when contemplating them. Each viewer will thus have their preferences over what is their favorite, to find out later if they match the author's particular vision. "The experience of seeing SMOKE is individual, unique and unrepeatable. Enjoy it and let your imagination fly."
Technique I take individual shots of simple smoke and under controlled conditions of light, playing to the soul of smoke to reveal its forms. The smokealiens arise from the mixture of these shots and the subsequent treatment of color of them, without other extras than those layers of color that let out feelings and visions that come from the depths of the mind to bring us a universe of strange beings: smokealiens, unconscious, fun and risky at the same time. Tecnique Each character has its own personality and is influenced by a specific mood at the time of its "creation". Thus Bullikor, Sadentor, Numa, Tremo, Lionelar and the rest of the characters that make up the series form a universe that takes us to a place where imagination takes command.
Wasptien WASPTIEN (THE EXTREME) Kings and Extremes Extreme, without midpoint, with him or against him. WASPTIEN sees life in white or black, without grayscale, represents the authority understood in a classical way. (It is the opposite of KINGSOMA, questions his reign).

Numa NUMA (THE AMBITIOUS) Ambition and success Ambitious and cautious, it measures its steps to the millimeter, is the villain smokealien. It does not like to be wrong, it is a perfectionist and represents success and fortune based on hard work... or whatever it takes.

The author Photographer and partner of advertising production company ADHOKERS, Jose Luis Tejedor is an engineer of image and sound with a great previous experience in the technical direction in postproduction of cinema, advertising and television. His digital background and high technical level as a photographer bring to his work a powerful visual aesthetic in the treatment of images. He started as an amateur in photography in 2003, and joined the Real Sociedad Fotográfica as a member in 2008, he became part of the board in 2011.
The author In 2010, he won the prize of the public for the best photography in the XVI edition of the Taranná Contest of Tourist Photography, and obtains a special mention in the category of Black and White of the end of the social competitions 2009/2010 of the Real Sociedad Photographic. In 2012 he founded ADHOKERS with Beatriz Acinas, and he carries out advertising graphic campaigns for major brands such as Absolut, L'Oréal, Huawei, Beefeater, Seagram's or Movistar. He also is part of the board of the Spanish Confederation of Photography since 2014.
