Sometimes all of the festivities, lights, cheer, and expectations can leave us feeling extra blue. Our Blue Christmas is a 45-minute service for those of us whose days aren t merry and bright. It is a quiet, peaceful service filled with beautiful music, candles, and remembering the babe of Bethlehem. All three-year-old through fifth-grade students will sing during worship. Update On Pledges for 2019 Thanks to everyone who submitted their 2019 Commitment to Mission Card. As of today, we have 190 pledges totaling $555,812. If you were not able to celebrate Consecration Weekend with us or were not ready to submit your card, please take a moment to complete your card and return it to the church office or drop it in the offering plate. Be Strong Stay Strong Bone and muscle loss begin early, but strength training can reverse the process. A 10-week strength training class will be held at Community Memorial Hospital for those who want to get in shape in the new year. Children s Ministry Important Dates To Remember There will be a three-year-old Bible milestone class on January 10th from 6:30-7:30pm where all three-year-olds will receive their very own Spark Story Bible and begin to learn God s story. A third grade Bible milestone class will be held on January 3rd from 6:30-8:00pm. Kids will receive their new Spark Bible and begin to learn how to use it. First communion classes for students who are second-grade and older will be on April 4th and 11th from 6:30-8:00pm. The first night they will be able to share in communion will be April 18th at the 5:00 or 7:00pm worship services. More information will be sent to your homes before these ministries. Mr. And Mrs. Shivers A collection box for donations of either handmade or store-bought hats, scarves, gloves, and mittens can be found in the Gathering Place near the southeast entrance doors. The clothes will be donated to our partners in the Milwaukee area. This is a great way to keep children and adults warm this winter season. Thanks From Luther Manor Many thanks to those who generously donated to the Luther Manor Friends Drive in November. A total of $500 was collected and given to Luther Manor to support ongoing special projects that will enrich the lives of the residents. The Bingo party held at the end of October was also a huge success. Thanks to those who donated prizes and volunteered their time.
