Priest I believe in one God, All the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. THE PROFESSION OF FAITH I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen. All stand BOW 6
One of the following responses is used: Lord, hear us. All Lord, graciously hear us. (or) THE PRAYER OF THE FAITHFUL Lord, in your mercy. All Hear our prayer. We ask for the prayers of the Saints and especially those of Mary, God s Mother and ours, as we say: Hail, Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen. THE LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST As the altar is prepared, gifts of Bread and wine are presented and we sing: G od is working his purpose out as year succeeds to year: God is working his purpose out, and the time is drawing near; nearer and nearer draws the time, the time that shall surely be, when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. 3. What can we do to work God's work, to prosper and increase the brotherhood of all mankind-- the reign of the Prince of Peace? What can we do to hasten the time-- the time that shall surely be, when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. 2. From utmost east to utmost west, wherever foot hath trod, by the mouth of many messengers goes forth the voice of God; give ear to me, ye continents, ye isles, give ear to me, that earth may filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. 7 4. March we forth in the strength of God, with the banner of Christ unfurled, that the light of the glorious gospel of truth may shine throughout the world: fight we the fight with sorrow and sin to set their captives free, that earth may filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.
All we can do is nothing worth unless God blessed the deed; vainly we hope for the harvest-tide till God gives life to the seed; yet nearer and nearer draws the time, the time that shall surely be, when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea. Priest All Pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of his name, for our good, and the good of all his holy church. O God, you search me and you know me. All my thoughts lie open to your gaze. When I walk or lie down you are before me: Ever the maker and keeper of my days. 2. You know my resting and my rising. You discern my purpose from afar, And with love everlasting you besiege me: In ev'ry moment of life or death, you are. DURING HOLY COMMUNION 3. Before a word is on my tongue, Lord, You have known its meaning through and through. You are with me beyond my understanding: God of my present, my past and future, too. 4. Although your Spirit is upon me, Still I search for shelter from your light. There is nowhere on earth I can escape you: Even the darkness is radiant in your sight For you created me and shaped me, Gave me life within my mother's womb. For the wonder of who I am, I praise you: Safe in your hands, all creation is made new. PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION STAND 11
CONCLUDING RITES FINAL HYMN L et all the world in every corner sing, my God and King! The heavens are not too high, his praise may thither fly, the earth is not too low, his praises there may grow.
