Thank you! Saturday, June 14th 7th Annual Moyamoya Fundraiser One of our young parishioners, Justin Doo who is a Walpole resident, was diagnosed with Moyamoya disease ( MMD ) in March 2007 when he was just seven years old, following periods of increasingly severe headaches and numbness in his tongue, arms and legs. MMD is a progressive narrowing of the arteries to the brain, which restricts blood flow to the brain, oftentimes resulting in TIAs (transient ischemic attacks or mini-strokes) or even worse, a stroke. This rare disease affects only one in 2,000,000 people, with symptoms usually occurring at around age seven. The only option is brain surgery, which Justin bravely endured for eight hours in April 2007 at Children s Hospital-Boston. In support of Justin and MMD, his family will be holding their 7 th annual MMD fundraiser to raise funds for vital research of this disease. The event will take place on Saturday, June 14 at 3 Muskett Lane, Walpole, from 9-3 and will include a DJ, water slide, inflatable basketball dunk and baseball throw, raffles, silent auction and concessions. Also at the event will be the 3rd annual 3v3 Basketball Tournament for kids ages 10-16. Please visit their website www.moya-moya.com for more information. All money raised will be donated for MMD research conducted at Boston Children s Hospital.

A MESSAGE FROM REV. MICHAEL J. BOVA CONTI Dear Parishioners, This weekend we celebrate the Great Feast of Pentecost, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Disciples and the forming of the Church. A great day to open our hearts to the Graces God is showering upon us and to allow the Spirit to be with us. Pentecost is considered to be the Birthday of the Church since the Apostles and others were empowered to boldly proclaim Jesus Christ to others. Last weekend Saint Timothy Parish celebrated Father John s ministry as Pastor here and offered Thanks to Almighty God for such a wonderful Priest to Shepherd this local Parish. I am sure he was deeply touched by your love, affection and appreciation demonstrated by so many friends and parishioners. Fr. John is truly a wonderful priest who serves the People of God with love. I know he will be missed and is now sharing his gifts with the Church in Medfield and Norfolk as their new Collaborative Pastor. May the Lord bless Father John as he assumes his duties as Pastor. Cardinal Seán appointed me to be your Temporary Administrator for the next six months until Father O Brien finishes his Sabbatical time away and is able to assume his duties here. I am most happy to be of assistance to the Parish during this time of transition. These past few years I have had the opportunity to assist at a number of Parishes in the Archdiocese as a Temporary Administrator and have found the local Parishes wonderful communities of faith, service and caring for others in many ministries. Most recently I was the Temporary Administrator at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish in Marshfield. I have gone from the ocean to a lake front location. Each priest brings gifts, talents and abilities to the ministry which may be similar or different from others. Transitions are not easy for parishioners nor for the priest leaving/coming. With the Graces of the Holy Spirit and the Love of the Good Shepherd, all priests want to celebrate the Sacraments with the People of God and journey with them in faith. May the Lord continue to bless Saint Timothy Parish in the years to come and assist you in the many Parish ministries to others as you have been doing for over fifty years. Pentecost Blessings, Fr. Michael GriefTeach Presents... Coping with Loss and Change in a Parish You are invited to a faith-based, educational program to help you cope with the changes taking place in our parish...your concerns, worries, or fears will be acknowledged and a discussion about the different types of grief that may accompany loss will reveal how "good grief" leads to hope, healing, and renewal. Your presenter is Cheryl Amari from www.griefteach.com. Cheryl has a Master's Degree in Pastoral Ministry, is Certified in Thanatology, and is known for her creative, engaging, and informative presentations. DATE: Tuesday, June 17, 2014 TIME: 7:00-9:00pm PLACE: St. Timothy Parish, Ruocco Center RSVP: Janet Kelly at 781-769-2522 or sttim@sttim.net Parish Meeting on the process of collaboration for St. Timothy and St. Catherine Parishes On June 24, we will be holding a series of meetings to discuss and learn about the collaborative process for St. Timothy and St. Catherine parishes. As part of the archdiocesan plan known as Disciples in Mission, St. Timothy and St. Catherine parishes are slated to be paired in a collaborative grouping that would share a pastor, a pastoral team and a pastoral plan. Two phases of this process have already been inaugurated in the archdiocese, and a third phase is planned for June of 2015. On Tuesday, June 24 we will hold two meetings when you can learn more about this plan: one at 9:30am at St. Timothy s, and the other at 7pm at St. Catherine s. We are offering two different times so that as many people as possible can attend this important meeting. All parishioners from both St. Timothy s and St. Catherine s are invited to attend. A representative from the archdiocesan Pastoral Planning Office will be present at each of the meetings and parishioners from either parish can attend either meeting, according to which one is more convenient. The purpose of these meetings is to allow parishioners in both parishes to participate in the preparatory work that is necessary to ease the transition to our future collaborative status. We hope that many of you will be able to join us as we work together to define the future of our parishes.
