Dong! Merrily on High arr. Joyce Eilers Congregational Meeting There will be a congregational meeting on January 6, 2019 for the sole purpose of electing a Pastor Nominating Committee, following the regular worship service. The slate to be elected is Andy Biedermann, Linda Casale, Susan Sebastian, Laura Heath, Sal Lalama, Kathy Hobbs, and Kathy Holmlund.

Reminders: * 2018 Pledge Remember to complete your 2018 pledge. Payments must be received by December 31, or if mailed, postmarked by the 31st to be credited to 2018 for tax purposes. Any received or postmarked after the 31st will appear on your 2019 statement. Thank you. George, for the Finance Commission * Annual Reports are due January 7 ASP Fundraiser There will be an ASP fundraiser concert on January 6th at 6:00 p.m. at the church held by Simon Dettelback to raise money for the upcoming ASP service trip. There will be several performers including Simon, his sister Lila, his brother Ben, and returning performer Isabel Roman playing trumpet. January Sabbath Now that the busy time of the holidays is behind us, it is time to turn our thoughts toward refreshing and renewing ourselves. The CE Commission is encouraging everyone to partake in January Sabbath. For the month, most nonessential meetings and activities will be suspended and we will be offering 3 evenings of time to come together for food, fellowship and reflection and education. We will be meeting Wednesdays January 16, 23 and 30 from 6:30-8:30 at the church for first a light soup supper, then time for adults, youth and children to meet. The focus of the discussions will be prayer - it's many components, ways to pray, history and personal sharing. Please come to one, two or all sessions! Sign up sheets will be available. We are looking forward to seeing you there as we turn inward in reflection and outward in fellowship during the cold, dark month of January.

Children and Youth Youth group will resume in January. January 6 Intergenerational Worship: Please let me know if your children would like to participate in Worship. Sally@bbpc.org THANK YOU From Pastor Linda: A heartfelt thank you for all the prayers, cards and texts. I have been so very touched by your good wishes. I am doing well. Recovery is a slow and tiresome process, but I am behaving (my family is seeing to that). I am looking forward to being back with you in January, but in the meantime I wish you all a very Merry & Meaningful Christmas! Epiphany Luncheon Enjoy this opportunity to celebrate Epiphany as this holiday season winds down. On January 12, 2019, come gather for an Epiphany luncheon with the Presbyterian Women in New Brunswick Presbytery at the Somerset Presbyterian Church on JFK Boulevard in Somerset. We will be gathering at 11:00 AM to hear Pastor Ricardo from a local Honduran church who will tell us how he sees God changing lives through the message of the Gospel. He returns to Honduras each year to carry donations, love, and support from the New Jersey congregation to the poor and his seeded congregations. A luncheon with the Epiphany cake will follow; we will recognize the 2018 Memorials and Honorary Life Memberships. The program is expected to close at 1:30 PM. We will be accepting gift cards for local and Honduran mission work. A donation of $5.00 for the program and luncheon will also be received. Register for the meeting with Doris Sabin (732-469-3843, d_sabin@verizon.net); carpool arrangements can be made.

Adult Mission Trip: February 18-22, 2019 Once again we have an opportunity to put together an Adult Mission Trip. This year we will not be traveling south for ASP. We will stay right here in New Jersey and help re-build homes impacted by Super Storm Sandy. We will be assigned work by the Super Storm Sandy Rebuilding Program (or SBP). There is also a volunteer host site at Camp Evans where we can stay for the week. This project comes to us through PDA (Presbyterian Disaster Assistance). If you are interested speak to John Almendinger or email jjodinger@optonline.net. He will send you links that will explain more. 2019 Stewardship Pledges The Stewardship Commission would like to thank all those who have returned a pledge card to date. If you have not yet returned a pledge card, please consider doing so in order for BBPC to continue to provide the worship opportunities, programs, and mission activities that have come to mean so much to so many. Your pledges direct our plans for the coming year. Blue Christmas While many are thankful for the joys of Christmas, we realize others can experience sorrow while others are celebrating. The Caring Ministers have provided a way to express these losses and sorrows for the past years. The blue Christmas tree continues to be lit in the rear of the sanctuary. We invite you to fill out a blue card with any concern/s and attach it to the tree-no name needed. The Caring Ministers will pray over all the cards in January.

In Other News Caring Minister On Call: December 30 - January 5: Marion Randolph Hearing Aids for use during worship: Located near the church office or available from any usher Spark Sunday School: Interested in volunteering? In addition, an 8 week Wednesday Class (12:00-1:00 pm) will begin on January 9, 2019, also $40. USHERS NEEDED!!!If you have a passion to serve BBPC, one of the simplest ways you can do this is by becoming an USHER! We are currently in need of 2 Ushers to serve at our Sunday services. The more Usher teams we have, the more time you ll have between rotations. There are only TWO requirements for this position: Friendly and Welcoming! If you re currently sitting in the pews, chances are that you already possess those qualities. Newbies will be paired with more seasoned team mates, so have no fears. Please feel free to contact Adriana Biedermann at bied318@gmail.com. OR just come see me at church, I ll probably be ushering! Key Fobs: Please return unneeded key fobs to the church office. Thank you Flower chart: The 2019 Flower chart is posted outside the office.
