Farewell Reception for Daniel Several places in Scripture invite us to make a joyful noise unto the Lord (Psalm 66:1; 95:1 2; 100:1; 1 Chronicles 15:16). For example, Psalm 98:4 6 says, Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises. Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord. This psalm goes on to describe the sea roaring, the rivers clapping their hands, and the hills breaking forth in song. The picture is that of all creation joining together in noisy worship of God. A joyful noise is not merely noise for its own sake. Our world is filled with that kind of noise, much of it harmful or distracting. A joyful noise is a bold declaration of God s glorious nature. When the Spirit of God takes up residence in our lives, we cannot help but express it and part of that Spirit-filled expression is joy (Galatians 5:20). God wants us to find such joy and excitement in the God gifts that we have been given that we cannot contain it. Ephesians 5:18 19 instructs us to be filled with the Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart. When we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we desire to praise God and edify others. Daniel Parsley has been a sign of God s call among us for the last 3 years. He is taking his leave from us to answer the next facit of God s call upon his life. He will be completing his doctoral with the University of Cincinnati while he conducts the May Festival Choir of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and serving in worship ministry through a local congregation. Please join in the opportunity to thank him for his service with us at Faith and to wish him Godspeed in his next adventure. A Farewell Reception for Daniel Parsley Sunday August 13th Following each worship service

We sponsored a girl named Jacqueline when she started preschool and continued to provide her tuition at the New Horizon Methodist School until she graduated. (See the then/now photos.) Jacqueline struggled in school. In third grade, it was the prayers of her classmates and teachers that got her through. Jacqueline graduated from the school in 2015. In 2016 she began college work in the area of Early Childhood Education. Life is still a struggle for Jacqueline, especially financially. She has to take public transportation to and from school, as well as pay her tuition and test fees. She says, It s a real fight every day, but I know that with the help of God, everything is possible. When you drop your coins or bills in our collection containers, think of Jacqueline and the future she has because of your donations. Thank you.
