Interested Residents Page 5 There are occasions when Cloverleaf Courts will get people from the community who drop in unannounced for a tour of our facility. Many times we have no vacant apartments to show and will call residents and ask to show their apartments with minimal notice. We have compiled a list of residents that are willing to show their apartments in these situations and with little notice time. If you are willing to show your apartment please contact the office so we can add you to the list. Thank you in advance for helping us with our tours. Weather Watch I just got off the phone with a friend living in northern Minnesota near the Canadian border. He said that since early this morning the snow is nearly waist high and is still falling. The temperature is dropping and is at about 15 degrees and the north wind is increasing to near gale force. His wife had done nothing but look through the kitchen window and just stare. He says that if it gets much worse, he may have to let her in.

The Robber A hooded robber burst into a Minnesota bank and forced the tellers to load a sack full of cash. On his way out the door, a brave Minnesota customer grabbed the hood and pulled it off, revealing the robbers face. The robber shot the customer without a moments hesitation. He then looked around the band and noticed one of the tellers looking straight at him. The robber instantly shot him also. Everyone in the bank, by now very scared, looked intently down at the floor in silence. The robber yelled, Well, did anyone else see my face? There are a few moments of utter silence in which everyone was plainly to afraid to speak. Then, one old Norwegian named Ole tentatively raised his hand and said, My wife got a pretty good look at you.

It was the accepted practice in Babylon 4,000 years ago that for a month after the wedding, the bride s father would supply his son-in-law with all the mead he could drink. Mead is a honey beer and because their calendar was lunar based, this period was called the honey month, which we know today as the honeymoon. In English pubs, ale is ordered by pints and quarts...so in old England, when customers got unruly, the bartender would yell at them Mind your pints and quarts, and settle down. It s where we get the phrase mind your P s and Q s. Many years ago in England, pub frequenters had a whistle baked into the rim, or handle of their ceramic cups. When they needed a refill, they used the whistle to get some service. Wet your whistle is the phrase inspired by this practice. A group of seniors were sitting around talking about all their ailments. My arms have gotten so weak I can hardly lift this cup of coffee, said one. Yes, I know, said another.
