Paska sale fundraiser. The Missions Team invites paska bakers to bring paska to church. Paskas will be displayed at the front of the church, and available for a free will offering following the service. Money collected will go towards the MCC Meat Canner. After church is a lunch and discussion about the future of our youth ministry. Please bring soup, bread, veggies or dessert to share. Children's activities are being offered - please rsvp to church office. All are welcome to attend this important conversation. Next Week... Good Friday April 19 10 am, Worship service with Communion. Easter Sunday April 21 6:15 am, All are welcome for the joint Sunrise Service around the fire pit at Faith Mennonite Church with Faith Church and LUMC. 10 am, Easter worship service. Church Life... Community Meal. Our next meal is Wednesday, April 24 at St. John s Anglican Church, Leamington. Preparation begins at 1 pm, serving begins at 4 pm and we finish at approximately 6 pm. UMEI Christian High School News MSC Choral Festival today. The 57 th Annual Mennonite High School Choral Music Festival takes place today and is hosted by Lancaster Mennonite School in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The concert starts at 3 pm and will be lived streamed. Go to https://mscchoralfestival.com/ to listen to UMEI s choir, along with 12 other school choirs, followed by the mass choir pieces. Zwieback and raisin bread orders are due in the office by noon Monday, April 15 and will be ready to pick up Wednesday, April 17. Ground beef orders are due in the office by noon Wednesday, April 17 and will be ready to pick up Thursday, April 25. Grade 8 s are invited to join us for Shadow Day on Friday, May 3 from 12-3 pm. The day kicks off with a delicious meal at our Hospitality and Tourism Class event "Taste of the World." Students will then have a choice of two full classes to shadow in the afternoon where they will experience what classes at UMEI are like. The UMEI Hospitality and Tourism class is happy to announce that they will be hosting another Taste of the World Festival (or Smag af Verden, Rosacheate Nei Piphoplok, Sabor do Mundo, Sabor del Mundo, Taem Alealam, Goût de Monde in the languages of our countries). We would like to invite you and all of your family to our fifth annual festival where you can experience food and culture from different countries around the world. The festival will take place on Friday, May 3 from 12-1 pm, inside our school s auditorium. Tickets ($10/adult and $6/student) are only available prior to the event through the students in the Hospitality and Tourism class and from the office. Tickets will not be for sale at the door on the day of the event so please have your 3

Leamington Mennonite Home News The Auxiliary is hosting a Yard and Bake Sale on Saturday, May 4 from 8 am noon. The Home will pick up larger, local items on Thursday, May 2. Resident Visits. Our Home invites resident families, friends and members of our faith community to visit our residents in the Long Term Care Home and the Retirement Residence. We have been fortunate to remain outbreak free this past winter and spring but request those with colds, coughs, or runny noses to 4

Silver Lake Mennonite Camp News Annual General Meeting and Paddle the Grand Fundraiser for Silver Lake Mennonite Camp, Saturday May 11, 2 pm: Silver Lake supplies canoes and equipment and you enjoy a two hour afternoon paddle through Waterloo Region s beautiful countryside. This fun, family-friendly event ends at Kiwanis Park (Kitchener) with dinner provided. Funds raised help support Silver Lake s summer camp program. Mennonite Disaster Service Canada (MDS) has two exciting opportunities to repair or build new homes after disasters in Canada. 1. Westport, Newfoundland: MDS is building a house for a family of five who lost their home in a house fire in Westport, Nfld. The project begins on June 2 and will run till July 27, 2019. Weekly volunteers are invited to serve in up to two-week blocks. If serving for two weeks MDS will reimburse the cost of travel. For scheduling call Lucille Toews at 866-261- 1274 or email ltoews@mds.mennonite.net. 2. Grand Forks, BC: On May 10, 2018 a major flood hit Grand Forks, BC with much of the town engulfed in water. Beginning May 5, 2019 MDS will repair houses and possibly build new houses for those that flooded. MDS is scheduling weekly volunteers to serve for 1-3 weeks. Leamington Mennonite Home. This part-time social-recreational position includes portering to evening devotions and activities, meal assistance, snack deliveries and companionship. The position can be combined with school attendance providing the student enjoys working with seniors and frail elderly. Shifts include weekend and early evening activities. Interested people of all ages are encouraged to attend a lunch and discussion time after church today to imagine the future of NLUMC's youth ministry. Youth, parents and siblings are invited to visit the Windsor Mosque. We will leave the church at 3 pm to meet at the mosque at 4 pm. We will receive a tour of the Mosque with Imam Mohamed Mahmoud, participate in a question and answer session, hear a presentation on the Muslim religion, and eat together with our hosts. Out of respect for our hosts, women and girls are encouraged to wear longer dresses or skirts and long sleeves, and you may wish to bring a scarf to cover your head inside the mosque.
