TREVOR WATT OUTBOUND EXCHANGE, LIZZY WEBB S REPORT 06/04/2016 Since last report, I have had a few days of school and a weekend! So school is going well I have made a few good friends and get along with everyone in my class which is good. My German is getting a lot better which is good! Last weekend I went to another exchange students, Monique s house on the Friday night it was really good catching up with her as we spoke a lot and at our language camp and became really good friends. We went to bed pretty early because the next morning we had to get up because my friend had a soccer match so I and her host sister went and watched her play after the match we went home and baked some

brownies they tasted so good! That night we went to Lucerne for dinner it was really nice to be able to explore the city and talk about everything that has happened since we have been here! We got home at 10 o clock and then watched a movie and went to bed. Sunday morning we got up super early (6am) because I had to go to Basel for my most cousins first communion, it was really good going to the church with the whole family then we all had lunch together with both sides of the cousins family so I meant a couple people from Canada and there were a couple sisters around my age who I spoke to for a while, it was really nice getting to know a few more people! 11/04/2016 School is going well, everything is getting easier the teachers seemed less scared to try and talk to me whom am good because they seem to explain thing to me more and help me with the work. My class mates have decided to try start only talking high Germen with me which is good I hope it lasts! On Friday we had a movie night at my third family s house, the movie was really good! On my way home it was snowing for the first time in over a month it was so beautiful but my phone went flat so I couldn t get photos. Saturday my host family and some family friends and another exchange student Tenneka went to Italy for lunch and to look at this market! Italy was so beautiful and the town we went to was very Italian it was exactly how I pictured Italy to be. The food was really good it was hard though because the waiter didn t give us much time to read the menu so we didn t really get to read it we just choose two random dishes, but they were still really yummy! We also got Gelato before we came home I was so full by the end of all of the food! The market was really nice, it was different experiencing the way people try and sell there items they are so open to tell you anything to get you to purchase something! I had the best time with my host family there, my host sister Xenia and I had the best time we bonded heaps and laughed at the stupidest stuff but we had a really good time together. On Sunday we had another first communion for my host cousin I went to her house in the morning and did her hair and another lady s not too sure who she was ha-ha. The first communion was really good the church services are always really interesting to experience because I don t really go to church in Australia. After the church service we went to lunch at this sport centre the food was good but they split the meals up so much! Like you get an entrée then the kids get their meals and like an hour later you get main then it s another hour before you get the dessert then you always have a hot drink like a coffee after wards it so different! My host sister and I laughed lots and talked because there wasn t really anyone else our age there mainly adults and kids, but it was good because we planned her birthday party for Saturday! On Friday I had a blood test to check my iron levels, I have been feeling really tired and just haven t been too well for a while now. Then today I got the results my iron levels at 11.6 which isn t too bad but the doctor said that its still pretty low so I now have tablets to take every day! I told my mum today because I didn t want to freak her out before I got the results! So everything is going well! I absolutely love it here and I can t believe I have less than 3 weeks with this family, I don t want to move but I know my next family are lovely as well. 19/04/2016 On the weekend it was my host sisters birthday, I gave her a Pineapple she absolutely loves Pineapple so she really loved it and found it a bit funny. Saturday night we had a bit of a party to celebrate she had some of her school friends over and we ate Lasungue for dinner it was really yummy! On Friday night I made her birthday cake it was a rainbow layer cake and everyone really enjoyed it, it tasted really good! School the last few weeks have been good but full on because everyone is getting ready for the end of the term and there have been lots of tests and thing but it is slowly getting easier. My german teacher is getting me to do other work instead of the tests and she asked me to put together a quick presentation on Australia for my class mates so I will present that to the class this week or maybe next. Tonight I had a volleyball tournament with my whole school we all got into teams and played 6 games of volleyball, I was super tired but had a really good

time getting to know the girls in my class that I don t really get an opportunity to talk to because they sit at the other side of the class room, we had a great time and laughed LOTS! 24/04/2016 This weekend we had the Rotary Spring Day. It was really good seeing all of the other exchange students again some people have changed so much since we last saw them. We went to Interlaken for the event and went on a boat ride over the lake it was quite nice but it was raining and it was really cold. When we get to Thun we did a Photo Challenge it was good but Rotex just said to get into groups of 6 so everyone went with the people they had already met so we didn t get to know people we didn t know so well, I was with newbies all from Australia and on New Zealander. We had a good time anyway and took some photos. After the event my friends and I went to Bern for dinner and shopping then we came back to my house for the night. It was really good catching up with them again as we were really good friends at Language Camp! Today we slept in a bit then we went to this wooden bridge with my host family and some host cousins the bridge was so nice but SO scary! The view was so beautiful and we had a good time walking over it then to this little village my host dad told me a little bit of history about the town which was really cool. We then went for Lunch we had Pizza it was really nice. I can t believe I only have 6days left with this family I am going to miss them so much! 30/04/2016 I moved family s last night it was so hard to leave my old family I loved them so much, I found it harder leaving them then leaving my mum at the airport in Australia. But all is good so far with the new family they have lots planned for the holidays which will be nice, we have one weeks holiday now. School is going well I have made some really good friends that I hope to keep for a very long time! On Wednesday me and my hosts sister went to the Bern for the afternoon we just did a bit of shopping and hung out it was really nice to spend time with here before I left the family. Yesterday my host Aunt and cousins came over and said goodbye to me and we had a really nice dinner which my host mum prepared, it was really yummy but I wasn t that hungry.
