WORSHIP GUIDE PRELUDE Come, Come Ye Saints Martha Lynn Carroll As e begin orship, God invites you into his presence. This is our chance to make a choice: ill e merely observe today s happenings, or ill e participate in orship? CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 66:1-2, 4 Minister: Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth; sing the glory of his name; give him glorious praise. Congregation: All the earth orships you; they sing praises to you, sing praises to your name. Let us orship God! Our first act in orship is to praise God for ho he is and hat he has done. This helps remind us ho God is and hy e ould ant to orship him. We also pray that he ould send the Spirit to help us orship. PRAYER OF ADORATION & INVOCATION Our Father ho art in Heaven, halloed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy ill be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as e forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. OUR AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Heidelberg Catechism 32, 34 Minister: Christians, confess your faith in Christ! Congregation: I am called Christian because by faith I am a member of Christ and so share in His anointing. ABOUT COVENANT OF GRACE Worship in Truth What e include in our orship service are those things hich God has declared beneficial for his people. Adults and children ill be invited to participate in the singing of beautiful songs, expressions of corporate confession and prayer, useful preaching, and the joyful celebration of the sacraments. GROW BY GRACE The result of eekly participation in this orship and in the life of the church ill be, by grace, groth. Worshipping ith Peachtree Corners Presbyterian Covenant of Grace is presently orshipping ith the Peachtree Corners Presbyterian congregation, ho is in the process of searching for their next pastor. The core team of Covenant of Grace and the elders of PCARP are excited about the ays our congregations can help one another in this time of orshipping together. Paul Mulner ill provide the eekly preaching and leadership in orship, as he as going to do for Covenant of Grace until e are ready to call a pastor. Peachtree Corners is graciously sharing their facility, nursery, and children s ministry programs ith us. Both congregations have the opportunity to be encouraged by the felloship of believers ho are actively praying for God s blessing on both congregations, no and in the future. On Sunday mornings, members and guests of Covenant of Grace are invited to meet in the felloship hall starting at 9:45am for coffee, prayer and felloship. Children's Sunday School classes are also available.
PRAYER FOCUS & REQUESTS For this eek Pray for our church: that God ould bring people seeking Christ and excited about our vision; that he ould raise up future elders and deacons as members of the core team; that e ould orship and serve God and neighbor faithfully as a congregation. Pray for the congregation of Peachtree Corners: for unity during a time of transition; for their pastoral search; for isdom for their elders; for their itness to Christ in the Peachtree Corners area. Pray for the conversion of our unbelieving friends and family. Pray that God ould give us enough love for them, faith in his ord, and terror for his judgement against evil, that e ould have the courage e need to stand up for Christ and to try and persuade unbelievers to turn to him for salvation. Pray for all the victims of the recent hurricanes, especially those in Puerto Rico. Pray seeking the specific ays in hich God is calling you to love and help your neighbors. Pray for the leaders of our country, state, and local governments. Pray that these leaders ould honor God in their decisions, hether intentionally, by common grace, or by God using the things they have intended for evil for his good. Pray for conversion for those ho do not kno Christ. Pray for other orld leaders ho persecute and bring suffering upon their people, especially Christians. Pray that God ould convince and convert them or else remove them from their positions of poer. Pray for our families. Pray for fathers to lead their families in isdom, ith toughness and tenderness as each is required. Pray for mothers to be encouraged in their ork, to keep up the good fight, and to love God by loving their households. Pray for children to seek God at every age, to ask good questions, to flee from temptation, and to believe you are never too young to follo Christ. Pray for the sick. Pray for healing for those ith temporary infirmities and injuries. Pray for comfort and peace for those suffering from long-term conditions like Alzheimer's, Parkinson s, dementia, and cancer. Pray for those ho care for them to be reminded that as they do for the least of these they do for Christ himself.
