Stewardship, A Way of Life Tithing God s Plan for Giving Tithing Income for April 12, 2015 In pew Collection $ 16,613.00 Online Giving $ 3,265.00 $ 19,878.00 April 13, 2014 $ 20,125.50 Thank you for your continued generosity! From the Pastor: Many thanks to those who have responded to the tithing appeal. Your generosity is deeply appreciated. From a Parishioner: Our prayer is that others will consider tithing after witnessing the blessings that we have received. Good Deed for the Week from a 7th Grader: I made friends with a shy kid when I visited Shippensburg University. THE CATHOLIC HOME MISSIONS APPEAL will take place next weekend. One way that this appeal works to strengthen home mission dioceses in the U.S. is by funding seminarian formation in poor dioceses. The blessing of seminarians places a financial burden on these dioceses, where educating each seminarian costs $35-40K per year. Your support is needed for these young men, so that they might go back and serve their parishes. Please strengthen the Church at home by making a generous gift to next week s appeal. 2015 BISHOP S ANNUAL LENTEN APPEAL REPORT Thank you to all who have contributed to the Lenten Appeal. Of the 1880 families in the parish, 732 families have responded thus far. Parish Goal (Assessment): $173,600.00 Total pledged thru Parish $ 132,708.00 Total pledged thru Diocese 25,163.00 (Credit Card/Payroll Deduction) Total pledged to Date $ 157,871.00 Amount needed to reach Goal: $ 15,729.00 Reminder: If you indicated a pledge by Credit Card, please complete the process to update our totals. The Diocese will notify us of your pledge. If you have not done so yet, it is not too late to make a pledge or donation to the Lenten Appeal. Your donation can be dropped in the collection basket or made by credit card from the Parish website (www.goodshepherdparish.com). Simply click on the Bishop s Annual Lenten Appeal Donate box in the upper right corner to make a Visa or MasterCard pledge. The number of parishioners who have died or moved over the past year has for the most part been offset by new parishioners who have registered. If those who have not yet made a commitment will do so, we should be able to reach the goal. So every contribution counts and will help reach the goal. Thanks to those who have made a contribution. Thanks to those who will. Good Shepherd Online Giving Made Easy! By enrolling in our online donation system, Netcharge, parishioners can set up automatic weekly or monthly contributions to Good Shepherd Parish. Our website contains the link for online donations, www.goodshepherd-parish.com. Click on the Netcharge link, click Register and follow the simple instructions to create a new account. Using your Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or by transferring from your checking or savings accounts, you can set up an automatic Offertory or Building Fund contribution. A record of your contributions is kept on your account online, as well as posted to our records for tax purposes. Many parishioners enjoy the ease of giving electronically and it has a positive effect on financial planning and budgeting for the parish. For questions or further information, please contact the Parish Office at 761-1167. Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) For Good Shepherd School Are you a business owner? The Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program provides businesses with a tax credit for their donations to non-profit scholarship or educational improvement organizations, such as Good Shepherd School. This program provides significant revenues to support tuition scholarships through the Diocese of Harrisburg s Neumann Scholarship Foundation. Not only does this improve a student s chance to receive an education at Good Shepherd School, it also ensures your tax dollars stay right here in our community. For further information, please call the parish office at 761-1167. The deadline to submit an application is July 1, 2015. If approved, EITC money would be available to families in the 2016-2017 school year. Thank you for your support! United Way Contributions Accepted United Way contributions can be made to Good Shepherd School through the United Way Campaign. Our school code for United Way is 104444. Attention State and Federal Government Employees! SECA and CFC Contributions Welcome Good Shepherd School is an approved charity through the State Employee Combined Appeal (SECA), and the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). These two programs give state and federal government employees the opportunity to contribute to our school through payroll deductions. As these programs begin this fall through the workplace, parents and parishioners have the unique opportunity to direct contributions to Good Shepherd School. Our school codes for these campaigns are: (SECA) - 4401-0023; (CFC) - 88162.
