First Communion Today On this Sunday we welcome five third graders to the Lord s Table. They have come to know Jesus as the Bread of Life and faithful friend. We are grateful to their catechist, Donna Banach and to Wendy Kachermeyer, our parish catechetical coordinator. With support and example from their families, they will continue to come regularly to the Lord s Table to receive bread come down from heaven for the salvation of the world. Last Faith Formation Class Today Today s session is the final class of this school year s faith formation program. We are most grateful to the teachers of our children who have generously shared their faith with a new generation. May your own faith continue to grow and prosper because you have given yourself so generously in this past year. Confirmation Here This Week On Tuesday at 7 pm we welcome Bishop Richard Malone to the parish. He will confirm seven of our parishioners as well as 30 others from Holy Trinity and Blessed Mary Angela Parish. As they profess their faith in Jesus Christ and are anointed by the Holy Spirit, we pray that they will give powerful witness to Jesus Christ in our world and community. In addition, next Sunday afternoon, five adults will be confirmed at our Spanish Mass with three receiving Eucharist for the first time. The Risen Lord continues to form disciples in our midst! Spaghetti/Meatball Dinner On Wednesday of this week St. Joseph Parish will feature a pasta dinner from 4 pm until sold out. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $8 /adults and $5 for children ages 12 and under. Take-outs are also available. There will be a drawing for a total of $500 in cash prizes at 6 pm. Dunkirk, New York May 1 st, 2016 Baby Bottle Collection Next Sunday, Mother s Day, there will be a number of baby bottles available in church. The idea is that you would take one and return it filled with spare change by Father s Day weekend. This is a fund-raiser of the St. Gianna Molla Center on Townsend St. in Dunkirk. Your family s participation will help pay expenses for the pregnancy outreach center and can be a great way to teach family members about the sacredness of human life. It is a wonderful expression of gratitude for the gift of life that your mother and father shared with you! A Touch of Hawaii at BMA St. Gianna Pregnancy Outreach Center will present a Hawaiian Luau for Life on Saturday, May 14 beginning at 6 pm at Blessed Mary Angela Parish Center, 324 Townsend St. Dunkirk.
