MISSION & OUTREACH SPOTLIGHT: Family Promise of Birmingham Family Promise of Birmingham (previously Birmingham Hospitality Network) aims to bring shelter, meals, and support services to families without homes. Trinity is on a rotation along with 14 other local congregations, and hosts families for 1 week approximately every 3 months. Get Involved! Through their annual fundraiser (see details below) AND the next time we host families (the week of August 30) by preparing meals, eating dinner with the families, spending the night at Trinity, tutoring, facilitating parenting classes, etc. Consider being a part of this ministry. Reid Crotty Minister of Membership Care Trinity welcomes Rev. Reid Crotty as Minister of Membership Care. He will work with Rev. Bobby Scales in the area of caring for our elderly, along with visitation and general ministerial duties. Reid Crotty grew up in the East Lake section of Birmingham. He graduated from the University of Alabama and received a seminary degree from Candler School of Theology at Emory. He has served in the North Alabama Conference for 44 years, the last 22 years as Senior Minister of Bluff Park UMC. He and his wife, Martha, have a daughter, Colleen who is a music teacher in Atlanta. Reid and Martha live in West Homewood. NEW! INFERTILITY SUPPORT GROUP Trinity has a recently formed an Infertility Support Group for couples. The group is open to any interested members, community, and guests who are currently experiencing infertility. Would you like to serve on the Altar Guild? Take part in a wonderful behind-the-scenes way to serve by preparing the sanctuary for worship. It only takes a few minutes each week to help in this meaningful capacity. Commit for one month out of the year, taking care of altar duties such as dusting, oiling candles, changing paraments.
