EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR JOB DESCRIPTION JANUARY 2017 Windsor Baptist Refugee Ministries (Matthew House Windsor) Windsor Baptist Refugee Ministries (Matthew House Windsor) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Executive Director. Windsor Baptist Refugee Ministries is a Christian based organization that through its Matthew House program seeks to assist newly arrived refugee claimants with their immediate living needs, immigration procedures and assimilation into the community. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Reporting directly to and working in cooperation with the Board of Directors, employee will be responsible for: Representing WBRM (Matthew House Windsor) in the community and liaising with agencies and other organizations to actively promote and solicit financial and volunteer support, which will insure the continuing viability and expansion of this mission. Overseeing the operation of the house and staff. Advocating on behalf of refugee claimants as required. Recommend long-range planning and strategy for the mission and the staff, including new programs and new program funding initiatives, for consideration by the Board. Prepare monthly reports and attend Board meetings as required. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.

Relevant post-secondary education and experience. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Proven ability to work independently. Discretion, tact and courtesy. Experience in a related field is preferred (i.e. social service types of activities, fundraising activities, working with refugees, etc.) A member in good standing of a Christian denomination. Use of a vehicle and the ability to work flexible hours and attend evening meetings is essential. Ability and willingness to represent WBRM at Councils, Working Group Committees, attending job related seminars and conferences. Hours of Work: Current schedule is estimated at twenty hours per week including some evening and weekend work. On occasion, some additional hours may be required to achieve organizational goals. Any additional time required by the Board will be compensated via an agreement between the Board and the employee.
